Description from owner

Welcome to Friars Lodge. We are located in the heart of Sherwood Forest in the historic village of Edwinstowe. Formerly known as a Bed and Breakfast, we have recently undergone renovations completed in early 2016 of our annex. The annex is situated on the ground floor and is completely private with its own entrance, it is located at the rear of the main house which makes an ideal location for some peace and quiet.

Discount given for guests staying for a week or more.

We are pleased to offer two newly decorated bedrooms (one double bedroom and a twin bedroom which can also be used as a double if necessary), two recently fitted bathrooms and a brand new fully functional kitchen with a comfortable lounge and dining area. We also have a private garden area for our guests to enjoy, which is complete with outside lighting and a seating area.

We have bike lock up and washing down area available along with ample off road parking suitable for a motor home or horse box.

Well behaved toilet trained pets are welcome; however this must be discussed with owners prior to booking.

There is a washing machine and tumble dryer available for use in the out building, also washing line for when the weather is nice.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout your stay along with Netflix.

We are in a fantastic location in the village of Edwinstowe, which is home to Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood’s Major Oak tree.

Also on our doorstep the local area embraces:

Centre Parcs and the Aqua Sana Spa

South Forest Leisure Complex

Very Good

“2 nights stay”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2018

Very nice place with easy access to town centre and Sherwood Forest. A welcoming host who was very helpful. Plenty of leaflets to look at for ideas,

“Super friendly owner's, lovely rural setting in the Sherwood county. many many thanks.”

A smashing quaint little village location. perfect homely feel, I settled in immediately. Kitchen a little small although I prepared and cooked my meals with just the same ease as I do at home. Special thanks to Sarah & Paul for being so accommodating of my two wheeled friends(my road bikes). One a dry weather super light and the other a wet weather bike. The area has some fantistic views of the Nottinghamshire countryside. Cyclists both on and off road will love this place. Birdwatchers and naturalist as well. It just leaves me with one more comment to make. Please do not plan your weekend when I intend to stay. If you do you will have a enemy for life. Smashing place, accommodating host's and a beautiful location for nature lovers. Oran E Harper, Halifax. West Yorkshire.

“Lovely Host and Cosy Apartment”

“Excellent accomodation”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the owners are lovely, the location is great, we were very comfortable in Friars Lodge which is clean, modern, and has finishing touches which really impressed us - miniature toiletries, a bottle of milk, biscuits and best of all chocolate! The owners even gave us some eggs provided by their own chickens. The chickens visited us one morning pecking on the lounge window, we enjoyed their company while we ate our breakfast. The village has shops, places to eat and everybody we spoke to in the village was friendly. We found the lodge quiet and relaxing. It would be perfect for anyone.

Reviewed 5 Dec 2016

Accommodation could not of been more conveniently located, we could bike to pines and walk to pubs. The bike lock up and wash area was a massive plus. The cherry on the case was the actual accommodation, it is clean, fresh and very comfortable. The owners were great and very informative about the area we would definitely recommend for biking parties of 3 or 4 if 2 don't mind sharing a double. With two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a big lounge with handy kitchenette for making breakfast and sandwiches for the trails. Ample parking for two cars/vans. 5*..
