Location description from owner

The Scotland region

You can walk or ride through The Border Country with it's rivers and hills; stroll through glorious gardens such as Dawyck, Kailzie by Peebles, where Osprey are shown live on web-cam; pop over the border to visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens in Northumberland.

You can feel the history of through the castles, abbeys and great houses.

A visit to Edinburgh and Newcastle is easy - along country roads - we don't do motorways in The Borders! Though we do have a new railway line from Tweedbank to the very centre of Edinburgh.

You can cycle the country routes and roads or hurtle down the mountain bike runs at Glentress, where you'll certainly feel the glow!

From the stunning coast, St Abbs Head, Lindisfarne, The Farne Islands and Bamburgh Castle, to the Border Hills, the space, light and views will take your breath away!

On a creative note - the Borders oozes creative talent! Craftsmen working with cashmere, wool, wood, glass, clay, metal, pencil and paint have found inspiration here. Over 80 local craft workshops, galleries and exhibitions welcome you!

At the end of the day you can return to the comfort and quiet of Hendersyde!

Ednam

Kelso just has to be one of Scotland's most attractive country towns!

Standing at the junction of The Tweed and Teviot Water, the cobbled market square is surrounded by a great selection local shops, galleries, places to eat and delightful river side walks.

There's always a buzz about the town with a great variety of events at The Border Union Show Ground. Activities and attractions at Floors Castle, National Hunt Racing, Kelso Civic Week, musical gatherings and the farmers market.

Nearby golf courses abound! The Roxburghe Championship Course, Kelso Golf Course and Race Course are just at the end of the farm road! The Hirsel Course and Country Park are only 8 miles away, at Coldstream.
