Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and is one of the most vibrant cities in Europe. Its dramatic landscape, stunning architecture and rich cultural history in science, philosophy and art , has resulted in Edinburgh being called the 'Athens of the North'. The city has many beautiful buildings of historic interest, offers great shopping and plenty of cultural interest too. Edinburgh has something to capture everyone's imagination.

The Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival take place every summer during August and the city is famous for its extravagant 'Hogmanay' or New Year celebrations. But whenever you decide to come to this amazing city you are guaranteed a warm Scottish welcome and a fabulous holiday.

Edinburgh

The beautiful city of Edinburgh has numerous attractions and places to visit. The highlights include the famous Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile and Scottish Parliament. You can take a tour bus around the city and see its numerous sights with ease.

The city also offers many museums and art galleries including the recently re-furbished National Museum of Scotland, National Gallery of Scotland, Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the National War Museum which is located in Edinburgh Castle.

Other attractions include the Edinburgh Dungeon, Queen Mary Close, the Camera Obscura and Dynamic Earth.

Edinburgh Zoo has recently become home to two giant pandas - the only ones in Europe and is well worth a visit. The city also has the vibrant Port of Leith with its many bars and restaurants as well as the Royal Yacht Britannia and Ocean terminal Shopping Centre.

If you fancy a little space and stunning views, climb to the top of Carlton Hill or Arthur's seat - both close to the city centre or spend some time at the beautiful sandy beaches and promenade of Portobello.

“Great for City Break”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2012

A 20 minute walk or a short hop on the many convenient buses gets you to anywhere in the heart of Edinburgh. Within a 5 minute walk there is a decent choice of restaurants for lunch or dinner. The flat itself is nicely done with all mod cons, including wi-fi, which we found invaluable for identifying the next festival event. Includes a great little kitchen well equipped for making a reasonable meal if you don't want to eat out all the time. What more could you want?

We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and liked the apartment.
