Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Edinburgh is a beautiful and fascinating city; nicknamed "Athens of the North" and deservedly so. Edinburgh is unique in that it has two complete mountains in its centre and beautiful gardens in the main street. Flanked by the Forth Estuary to the North and the Pentland Hills on the South, the views are spectacular all around. There is much to see and do, from shop 'til you drop to walking hills so remote that you can believe you are in the Highlands.

Within Edinburgh there are historical "closes" and even an underground street, as well as museums, galleries, parks, theatre, cinemas and a multitude of places to dine from a porridge in the farmers market to cuisine from almost every nationality in the world. Edinburgh Castle is a must for every tourist and the flat is right across the street!

The flat is in the The Grassmarket which is an area steeped in history and has long been a place of entertainment from medieval times to the present day.

Edinburgh, being a port, also has many beaches and there is plenty of public transport to take you there. There are day trips available if you fancy exploring further afield to other cities, towns, lochs or the remote and beautiful Highlands.

“Excellent, everything we was looking for and more!”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

Everything we was looking for and more. Great property, well maintained and lots of extra little touches to make it feel like a home from home. Owners very accommodating and left starter package for when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling in Edinburgh.

Owner's reply: Thank you!

“Excellent home from home”

The moment we walked into this holiday rental we loved it. There was nothing we could want for, Deborah had covered everything you could possibly need. The welcome package was a lovely touch and the information package was left with all the instructions you would need. Any questions were always promptly answered. The property was clean and tastefully decorated. It is very well located for the Edinburgh Castle of which we could see from the kitchen window, the Royal Mile and other attractions. Thank You Deborah to you and your husband for a very memorable visit to Edinburgh. Lesley and Rick

Owner's reply: Thank you!

“Fabulously located flat. Immaculate and well equipped.”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2014

The flat is in an ideal, central location for sightseeing all of Edinburgh! It is exactly as described; very comfortable, immaculate and well decorated. Deborah gave us great directions and information before we arrived and left a great welcome pack which was very handy. It is close to Sainsbury's for any provisions you may want if self catering, but there are so many charming pubs etc on your doorstep you may decide not to! The flat is very well eqiuipped and it had all and more that we needed. I would definately recommend this and would definately stay there again.

Owner's reply: Thank you! Hope to see you back soon!

“Fabulous Stay!”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2014

We were thrilled when we arrived at this really cosy accommodation. It's location is perfect - very close to Grassmarket and the centre of Edinburgh - ideal for exploring the old town. The weather was very cold, but the apartment was really warm! Very comfortable furnishings, very well equipped and everywhere was extremely clean. Many excellent pubs, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. Thank you for providing us with such a lovely weekend break - we'll definitely return!

Owner's reply: Thank you! I'm glad you had a great weekend!

“Very impressed.”

Reviewed 22 Feb 2014

We couldn't fault our stay in Edinburgh. This particular flat was wonderful, and highly recommended for a short city break. Even though the flat is a studio, it didn't feel cramped at all. The flat is really tastefully furnished and has astonishing views of Edinburgh Castle. The location is very central and within walking distance of all major attractions including the Royal Mile, Castle, Princess Street etc. The accommodation is spotless and the provision of a welcome pack was a very kind touch. I would not hesitate to stay here again on what we hope to be many further trips to this lovely city.

Owner's reply: Thank you! We are very glad you enjoyed your stay!

“Lovely flat in a great location”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2013

This is a lovely flat - clean and comfortable with all the amenities you need when staying away from home. It's a great base for a trip to Edinburgh as you are within walking distance of the tourist attractions and shops. There's an amazing view of the castle from the kitchen window too. Deborah was quick to respond to emails and sent clear directions beforehand. The welcome food pack is a lovely touch. I'd definitely stay here again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the lovely review, Gillian! Hope to welcome you back one day.

“Fantastic Flat, Perfectly Located, Considerate Host”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2013

Let me tell you how great our experience was at this flat. First, this place is so perfectly located that you have everything within walking distance. Second, you have a host that provides you with a "welcome" package (in our case, one that was custom-tailored for my required gluten free diet--how considerate was that!?) of fresh farm eggs and all the food you need to regain your energy after a long flight or train ride. Third, this place is so user friendly and comfortable that all you need to do is scan the manual provided when you arrive and you can feel at home. I have already let me friends know that this is where they should stay on their upcoming visits to Edinburgh. We won't stay anywhere else when we return to this great city.

Owner's reply: Thank you Jay for a lovely review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay so much and hope you return. happy traveling!

“Perfect getaway for a couple”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2012

Lovely little apartment in a perfect location for the buzz of Edinburgh, stayed for 2 weeks wish it could have been longer, we will return. Very helpful owner and welcome food package was appreciated after a long and tiring journey.

Owner's reply: Thank you for a lovely review! I'm glad you had such a good time in Edinburgh and that you will be returning. If you do stay for longer, there will be a discount for a longer stay and a return visit!

“Great central location”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2012

We spent a week at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and found the flat to be in a perfect location next to the Grassmarket area, close to all bars, restaurants and mid-way between the Traverse Theatre and other venues. It is clean, well equipped and surprisingly quiet for such a busy area. An interesting experience in a traditional tenement where they wash down the walkways with a hose! The bed could be slightly bigger but all in all very comfortable and we would be happy to stay there again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for a great review and we are glad you had such a good time in Edinburgh.
