Curlews is a 4 Star Visit England Rated cottage and is absolutely perfectly situated centrally in the town of East Looe: set back in a quiet courtyard, you really are central to everything, being literally just a minute's walk from the large sandy beach; the harbour and the wide variety of shops, restaurants and pubs available in the town. Also just a ten-minute walk from the train station.

Curlews is a traditional stone cottage, dating back over 400 years, that offers quality accommodation. The new owner has fitted new furniture and bedding and the interior is well equipped and freshly decorated. The perfect base for a family summer holiday or for friends to enjoy some quality time together at any time of the year.

The front door opens into the bright and airy open-plan ground floor living and kitchen area, which has been tastefully decorated and furnished with comfortable sofas and a breakfast bar to comfortably seat six people. The triple-aspect room has slate flooring and a well-equipped kitchen (washing machine and tumble drier are supplied in the bathroom). A Multi Media TV with Amazon Video Package, DVD and CD player and iPod docking station with speakers, plus a variety of games, books and DVD's are provided.

Care and attention to detail shown by the owners has created a lovely character home, an open granite fireplace with a solid fuel burner and full central-heating make this an all-year round venue for families or groups of friends. A perfect location for both a family summer holiday, or a cosy winter-getaway, with the beach and harbour and all the town's many facilities being quite literally on the doorstep, Curlews provides a warm welcome to all.

The bedrooms are located over two floors: the main double bedroom on the first floor has an attractive feature fireplace. There is a spacious luxury shower room on the first floor plus an additional cloakroom. There is a further double-bedroom on the second-floor and also a further twin bedroom.

Available all year round, Curlews offers accommodation in a quiet location, yet is within easy reach of the beach, shops, restaurants, pubs and harbour. The property is child-friendly and well-behaved dogs are allowed (ground floor only). Looe itself offers a wide-variety of attractions to suit all tastes including sailing trips from the harbour in season.

Please note that the stairs in Curlews are fairly steep so the property may not be suitable for the elderly or infirm.

“Comfortable and considered amenities”

The cottage is located in the old part of the city, tucked away off the main high street and literally metres from the small local beach. Parking provided but the first time driving through Looe may get the pulse racing! Looe itself was a lovely little village to while away a few spring days but could just as easily be used as a base for further excursions. The cottage itself was generally well equipped (not luxurious but had all the amenities to make it comfortable). Enough beds to sleep us twice over! Books, a rather dodgy pack of cards, board games and books (and TV/DVD) provided, as well as a basic but nonetheless thoughtful welcome basket. Was missing a couple of basics in the kitchen like salt, pepper and foil... but had so many other things so really is the tiniest gripe. Not the most amazing shower (slightly bigger gripe) but quite possibly the most comfortable mattress we have slept on! All in all if you're looking for a clean, pleasant, comfortable base that provides value for money without compromising on location... Curlews is a good option.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
