Location description from owner

The Cornwall region

Cornwall is one of the UK's premier Holiday destination with stunning coast line and warmer climate.

Cornwall is renowned for its quaint fishing villages, of which Looe is just one. Other attractions include The Eden Project which makes a great day out from Looe but it is Cornwalls natural landscape that sets it apart and calls visitors back year after year.

Cornwall is the ideal destination whether you are looking for peace and relaxation or a more active holiday whether that be land or water based.

East Looe

Looe sits on the southern Cornish coast straddling the Looe river. A bridge now joins the former towns of East and West Looe. The harbour still serves as a working fishing port so there is always something to see and a good supply of local quality fish. With many excellent local restaurants and the excellent beach Looe has something for everybody. For the more adventurous there are many sea fishing trips to take.

Just a short drive or scenic stroll away guests can also visit one of the most popular places in Cornwall, Polperro a charming fishing village with great views and delicious fresh fish!

And who can miss out on The Eden Project a truly inspirational multi-domed greenhouse housing plants from around the globe? This environmental centre is like nothing ever seen before and attracts thousands of visitors every day. Enjoy..

“Petroc is just about perfect”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2012

Petroc is a lovely cottage , full of character , and in a perfect location. It is decorated to a very high standard and is equiped with everything you might need . The cottage is ideally situated for quick and easy access to the beach, shops, and places to eat and drink .Looe is a lively place , with plenty to explore and experience .

“A great cottage for a perfect family holiday”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2012

This was our first visit to both Petroc and Looe and we were not disappointed by either. The cottage was finished to a very high standard and equipped with everything a family could possibly need (even cool box, beach chairs and a parasol). The place was full of character and very conveniently situated just moments from the beach, shops and harbour. On arrival the cottage was pristine and linen and towels were provided. On the days when the British weather drove us off the beach there were a variety of board games and DVDs to keep us all busy. Looe itself was bustling with lots of pubs and restaurants for family (and finer) dining and some really lovely shops. We all enjoyed taking the ferry from East to West Looe (40p) and there were a variety of other boat trips on offer too. The harbour was very pretty and just the place to take an evening walk. We would not hesitate to return or recommend it to others. You have to park some way from the cottage but are able to load and unload the car very close which was no problem for us and meant that there was no traffic noise.

“Best place I have stayed in Looe”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2012

I go to Looe twice a year and this is the best cottage we have stayed in so far.The cottage was like home from home with everything you could need , just took toiletries and clothes, the kitchen was better then my own it looked like new . Everything in the cottage was of a very good standard. The cottage was down one of the small roads a couple of minutes from the beach and all the shops , bars and restaurants you can park the car nearby to drop off your luggage but as the cottage is in the middle of Looe the car has to be parked in the main car park about 10 minutes walk away ,this is not a problem as it makes the cottage very quiet with no traffic noise, perfect!! We had no problems during our stay and will definitely book this cottage next year if it is available

“Really beautiful traditional cottage in the heart of East Looe”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2012

We stayed recently at Petroc with our children aged 5 and 8. The cottage was picture postcard perfect for us, a little spot of luxury within steps of the shops and restaurants (NB we went to Squid Ink and Zute for dinner with the kids, both places were great). Though you park over the bridge in West Looe (approx charge 4.30 pounds per 24 hours at the Chandlery car park next to the slightly more expensive bigger one) it was possible to drop/collect luggage at the cottage - we didn't find this particularly inconvenient. It was obvious the owners had put their hearts and souls into the decor and facilities (the kitchen was better kitted out than my own and there were beach chairs, cooler box, dvds/board games, lots of towels, wifi, hairdryer etc). We would certainly want to stay again if we have the chance.

“Absolutely brilliant visit to Petroc Holiday Cottage in Looe...A MUST SEE by all accounts”

Reviewed 2 May 2012

My partner and I have just go back from a lovely week in Looe. We stayed at Petroc Holiday Cottage which was a fantastic experience. Not only is it a stones throw away from just about everything (the beach is literally a 30 second walk from the front door) but the inside of the cottage bodes an abundance of character and charm with a modern twist. We ate and drank at The Old Sail Loft, Morrells, The Golden Guinea, The Salatation Inne and The Rusty Bucket and we would highly recommend all of them. I can safely say that Petroc Cottage in Looe is a MUST SEE and we will definitely be going back!
