Location description from owner

The England region

Cornwall is the perfect location to get away from our hectic daily lives. The fresh air, beautiful scenery, rugged coastline and soft sandy beaches are a draw all year round. Cornwall is far more accessible now with excellent dual carrigeways serving the main towns a typical journey from Birmingham to Looe for example is 3 1/2 hours by car.

East Looe

Looe is a vibrant, historic fishing port where one can choose from a host of activities including safe bathing from the golden sandy beach, rock pooling and whiling away the hours crabbing off the quayside and watching the local fisherman unloading the days catch. Many other watersports such as parascending, water skiing and surfing are available nearby. The coastline in this region is beautiful and is accessible by the scenic Cornwall South Coast Path.In addition, throughout the year Looe hosts a range of events including sailing regattas, a jazz festival, carnival week and even a duck race! New year at Looe is made really special with the whole town celebrating in fancy dress and fireworks at midnight off the beach.A lovely picturesque railway running along the river connects East Looe to Liskeard giving further access to the national rail network. The river divides East and West Looe and both areas have a wealth of quaint buildings, cobbled streets, award winnning restaurants, cafes, traditional pubs and a variety of interesting shops, art galleries and boutiques.Tbe Eden Project The amazing and successful attraction near St. Austell www.edenproject.com The Lost Gardens of Heligan These wonderful and diverse gardens lost after the First World War were rediscovered and restored to their former glory. www.heligan.com National Trust For details of all their houses and gardens in the south west. www.nationaltrust.org.uk South West Coast Path The official guide to the South West Coast Path - recommended walks in the Looe and Polperro area. www.southwestcoastpath.com Plymouth The city's directory for restaurants, theatres, concerts, exhibitions etc. www.thisisplymouth.co.uk
