The Scotland region

Officially the sunniest area of Scotland, East Lothian has a lot to offer, from its spectacular coastline with fantastic beaches to historic castles, world-class golf courses and hill country. Explore its picturesque villages, seaside resorts and hills by car, on foot or by bike.

East Linton

East Linton is an historic East Lothian village, and whether you are golfers, walkers, cyclists or looking for family fun you will find many attractions to keep you busy.

For golfers this is the ideal spot, rated as being the best area in Scotland for golf, many famous courses are on the doorstep, Muirfield, Gullane and North Berwick to name a few.

Numerous walking trails crisscross the area, the John Muir Way and Saltire Trail going right through the village. The nearby Lammermuir hills are a must for walkers and offer a strikingly different landscape to the coast.

The Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick, and the National Museum of Flight at East Fortune and the leisure centre at Dunbar (with it's wave machine and flume) are great for entertaining the family on a rainy day.

Edinburgh is within easy reach, a 30-minute drive or a direct bus (2 per hour - great if you want have dinner with a glass or two!!). A day or 2 exploring the city, particularly during the festival is a must.

Alternatively, if you are looking for total relaxation and rest, this is the perfect place to be, a cosy warm cottage which has 2 great pubs (with good food) within easy walking distance.
