Located less than 10 minutes drive from Hastings, in the beautiful countryside of Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve, and just a 15 minute walk to the quiet beach of Covehurst Bay.

Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of your own self-catering holiday cottage. Located adjacent to the owner's home you have full access to their heated indoor swimming pool, gym, outdoor hot tub and gardens to enjoy.

The area is officially the sunniest part of the UK, surrounded by green countryside, wildlife, plenty of beaches and all the amazing castles and history from 1066 Battle of Hastings (Norman conquest of England).

Getting around

A car is recommended as we are located in the countryside. However there are regular buses to all the local attractions and taxi's are plentiful. The 8 minute taxi ride from Hastings train station to us costs about £7. You can also walk into Hastings across the nature reserve. It takes about 50 minutes. If you're stuck we have a car and will gladly pick you up or drop you off locally.

We are usually always around or contactable by phone if you have any problems or need local advice. On arrival we will give you a walking map of the area, point out the best places to visit and list our favorite local restaurants and amenities.

House rules

The price quoted is to sleep up to 4 people. If you plan to have more than 6 people enter the cottage for whatever reason, then you must ask the owners permission beforehand.
The gym and spa facilities can not be used if you are drunk or on medication.
No glass or food is to be taken into the spa area.
We are a quiet countryside retreat, so no loud music after 9pm. Thanks

We have stayed for couple of nights in May. We had such a lovely time. Couldn't ask for more! Fantastic property, very clean with an amazing garden, indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. Great place for walking, on the edge of Hastings country park nature reserve. We will definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends.

We stayed at Swallows Nest for a short break to celebrate our anniversary and we was certainly not disappointed. The cottage was lovely and very well equipped, the owners were very welcoming and very helpful. We was provided with maps of the local area, which was very handy. We highly recommend doing the dripping well nature walk, the area was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately we never got around to using the swimming pool and the hot tub. However we will definitely be returning, and we are looking forward to going back again very soon. We will definitely be recommending this cottage to family and friends. Thank you Chris and Erick for making us feel welcome, we didn't want to leave.

Top notch facilities within a great location. Super hosts who would happily go the extra mile if you need it. Furnishings and facilities are great quality and clean. Perfect location for walks, especially for dog lovers. Will definitely be going back later on this year!

We were made to feel very welcome. The conditions were very wet and muddy but we still got out and about. The Coastguard Tearooms serve a wide selection of food and dogs are allowed. So it was great to be warm and well fed inside with our dog of a change. The addition of the hot tub at Covehurst Bay Holiday Cottages was just what we needed. A lovely relaxed stay - we would love to come back when it's a bit dryer under foot! There were plenty of places to get food in Ore (5 minutes by car) including KFC and Pizza Hut - just what you need with a teenager in tow. Plus a Tesco Express and Co-op.

We had a fantastic stay in Swallows Nest, very comfortable bed, clean, and lovely welcome pack, the pool was an absolute bonus being able to swim before breakfast. We made to feel very welcome.

Lovely cottage, clean, bright and comfortable with lotsof personal touches such as a welcome pack and fresh flowers.Crisp bed linen and soft towels. Excellent communication with owners via email and a great website - easy to navigate and find all the information we needed. Actually everything has been well thought out which makes for a stress free and enjoyable short break. Swimming pool was fabulous - the chidren spent hours there and loved it! Walk to the beach was magical - and bonfire night at Hastings was AWESOME! We had a fantastic weekend at thiscottage and havealready recommended it to friends.

We had a wonderful stay at Swallows Nest cottage, the cottage had all mod cons and a lovely comfortable bed. The pool was fabulous, the kids absolutely loved it. Great location. Chris and Erick were great hosts, they let us know the tide timetable and left some delicious muffins for our arrival. They left us to it and if we ever needed them, they were more than happy to help.

place looks just like the photos. Lots of great parts to it and the bed was like a giant marshmallow and very comfy. I didn't cook much there but could have done easily and the kitchen has everything you need. Sofas were comfy too and the whole place felt like a home from home. I even saw a fox right outside the front door on the first night which was a treat. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
