Location description from owner

The England region

Folkestone is situated in Kent in South East England. Kent, known as the 'Garden of England', is famous for its orchards and also for growing hops. The countryside ranges from the iconic White Cliffs of Dover through the beautiful North Downs to the Kent Weald. The built environment includes the naval dockyards of Chatham on the Medway, to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Canterbury with its world famous cathedral, attractive towns such as Tunbridge Wells, Rochester, Deal and Romney, beautiful villages and the characteristic Oast Houses scattered about the county.

East Cliff, Folkestone

In 2013 Folkestone was listed in the Times newspaper's Top 30 coolest places to live in Britain. The seaside town boasts the beautiful architecture and coastal walks of the Leas in the West and the vibrant Creative Quarter, harbour and Sunny Beach in the East. The two halves are joined by Folkestone's award-winning Coastal Park.

“Brilliant, flexible accommodation”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2013

This is the perfect property for us. The location is convenient for the town, although it may not have the views of some Folkestone properties, it meant no struggle to park in the town centre which is more important to us. The property is lovely and had what we needed. We were able to use the lounge as a bedroom (we put our travel cot in it, although the sofa bed in it would be useable if our children were bigger!) and the basement accommodation of lounge diner and kitchen was ideal for us to use as family space. I thought my son's head was going to explode at the size of the bath! It is huge! The bathroom is total luxury. The bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen well equipped. Over all the property was clean and we really enjoyed our stay (hence we have booked again!)

Owner's reply: Many thanks. I hope you enjoy this year's stay as much as last year's. Folkestone is now in the Times newspaper's top 30 coolest places to live in the UK!
