Location description from manager

The England region

Woodlands gives you the opportunity to have a fantastic self catering holiday where you can totally relax and fully enjoy the Dorset countryside in its entirety.

The Property is situated in the heart of the Jurassic coast, it is within short diving distance to much of the pristine coastline and beaches which the area is renowned for. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to the shore, it's a naturally beautiful area, with large enclosed beach's with chalk and Portland stone encompassing it. There are many unique and quaint villages, it's the ideal place to visit.

Two of the most famous sites on the Jurassic Coastline are Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Lulworth cove was formed naturally by erosion from the sea 10,000 years ago. It has a large sheltered beach and a thriving village. The village has a museum, a souvenir shop, a visitors centre and a host of pubs and restaurants. Lulworth also has a plethora of hiking routes ,along the coast, which can be both tranquil and challenging. Durdle Door is a unique landmark of the Jurassic coast and is named due to the towering limestone arch which protrudes into the sea. It has a lovely beach, like many of the sites on the coast fossils can be hunted from the surrounding rock. This is great for children and adults alike.

Within a few miles, you have Lulworth Equestrian Centre, Monkey World and the Tank Museum, further afield there is Corfe Castle, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Weymouth and Swanage. This is just a few of the places of interest in the area to visit !
