There is a comfortable double bed from where you can look up to an amazing roof structure. The door faces east to catch the sunrise and is a joy to look through in the early morning. Our yurt field has many varieties of tall grasses and is visited by deer, foxes, barn owls, jays, woodpeckers and many more species of wild life. There is access to a public footpath..Much is provided for a comfortable stay including bedding, cutlery, crockery , pots and pans, gas for the cookers, fire wood and kindling for the wood burner and outside fires. Tea, coffee, sugar and many other items are also provided. All you have to do is turn up with perhaps a trip to the supermarket on the way to buy your food to cook for your main meals. Wittering shops are only 10 minutes away or 20 minutes to Chichester. Cooking can be done in our field shelter on the open fire barrel .This is where you will find the shower. This requires heating a large tank of water over the cooking fire. 12 gals of water takes about 15 minutes which is pumped up to a header tank by the solar pump. This makes for a very pleasant 15 minute shower. It's a great experience and makes having a shower good fun.Alternatively, if lighting fires isn't your thing, you can book your shower by phone 30 minutes in advance and we will do it all for you.

There is a small gas cooker inside the yurt. Should the weather be restricting, we have a large glass house, complete with table chairs, settee and radio, surrounded by plants, both floral and edible, which you are welcome to sample! However if camp cooking isn't your thing, there are loads of great places in the locality where one can dine out. There is just the one yurt in the field .Ordinary tents can also be used if required, by arrangement.ARRIVAL TIME IS AFTER 3.00 PM DEPARTURE TIME IS BEFORE 11.00 AM This is a small site and residential area, therefor we ask that there is no moving on and off site after 10.30 pm and before 7.00 am, after which there must be no necessary noise.

Location description from owner

The England region

There is so much to do in this delightful part of the country such as Glorious Goodwood, the Festival of Speed, the Chichester Festival Theatre and now we have the newly created managed retreat wetlands. It's well worth a visit.

Offering wonderful views of Chichester Harbour and the South Downs beyond, the natural and unspoilt sandy beach of West Wittering has been a favourite destination for a family day out for generations.
The highest water quality and excellent facilities have made it one of the premier Blue Flag beaches in the country. The sea is popular with wind and kite surfers, while shallow lagoons are left on extensive sandy flats at low tide. The whole area is internationally recognised for its wildlife, birds and unique beauty.

The Beach Café consists of a coffee shop, a takeaway, several outlets selling ice-cream and drinks, and a beach goods shop.

We are only 10 minutes from the Wittering sandy beaches.

Earnley

One of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK, Chichester has played a key role of the affairs of Sussex since at least Roman times. Today, Chichester is the prosperous administrative capital of West Sussex and a great place for shopping, but it's hard to avoid Chichester's links to its illustrious past.

Chichester city centre's broad streets are packed with listed buildings, with the list headed by the towering presence of Chichester Cathedral, now home to a family of peregrine falcons who can be heard as they swoop over the city at dusk.

The pedestrianised city centre is neatly enclosed within the ancient city walls and this helps to make Chichester compact and pleasant to explore on foot. There are plenty of good shops in Chichester and the city serves as the main shopping centre for the area.

“Fabulous 3 nights”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2016

We have just returned from a three night stay at this fabulous yurt. Although it is October we were lovely and cosy with the brilliant log burner inside and there were facilities to make a nice cuppa. The bed was very comfortable and should the weather have been colder, there were water bottles and extra blankets supplied. We thoroughly enjoyed showering outside and using the tin bath. We were able to quickly heat the water to a lovely steamy temperature. We were very fortunate with the weather so we had the sun beating down on us as we showered! We cooked breakfast using the fresh eggs from the owners hens and the fire made wonderful toast! We cooked our evening meals on the open fire in the well equipped open kitchen and enjoyed eating them in the greenhouse as the sun was setting. There are lots of surrounding walks and we had the field all to ourselves. We saw deer right outside as we set off for a walk down to the beach front. We thank the owners very much for a brilliant experience and I'm sure we will return.
