Description

Our newly converted stable is separate from the main house giving you total privacy. The property is 20 meters from the pedestrian entrance to the stunning Dyrham Park National Trust.

The space is double height with exposed beams, from which hang vintage light fittings that light-up the space with a warm glow.

The style is a mix of contemporary and country chic with one-off antique finds to give real character. It has been designed as a haven away from the hectic day-to-day life. We want guests to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting and home comforts.

The bedroom is huge, with super king bed and giant west-facing bay window from which you can view spectacular pink and purple sunsets.

The open plan kitchen and living area has a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, a breakfast bar as well as a dining table.

The large L-shaped sofa is super comfy - perfect for kicking back and watching a movie.

Plenty of parking in the private driveway.

Location description from owner

The England region

The Farmhouse provides elegant accommodation that is suitable for couples, families, groups and (well behaved) hen parties.
There is a huge amount to do in the area: a visit to Dyrham Park National Trust is a must seeing as its next door (the house was originally within the grounds of the park) for walks, picnics, their lovely restaurant and tea room – plus they have great fun kids activities in the holidays; head into Bath and visit the Spa, the Royal Crescent and The Circus (we can also recommend great restaurants); walk or cycle the Cotswold Way; visit nearby Castle Coombe; or just take a load off and relax in the beautiful garden or house.
Locally, there is The Bull pub at Hinton (next village to Dyrham and a lovely walk); and a farm shop at Pucklechurch (2miles).
As this is a rural location, you do need a car. We can recommend a taxi service into Bath if you want to leave the car behind.
We can also arrange private pilates classes and a beautician to visit the house.

Dyrham

The gardens and grounds are truly impressive.
In fact, the house is known in the area for having the most impressive collection of plants, trees and flowers – even the head gardener at Dyrham Park agrees!

There are several golf courses in the area – the closest being Tracy Park which is a few minutes away; plus Lansdown Golf Club about 10minutes drive; and Bath Golf Club about 20mins drive.
Also The Players Club is very close by

“Accessible, beautiful country getaway that ticks all boxes”

Reviewed 8 Dec 2013

We stayed for a long Autumnal weekend and absolutely loved it. The spacious living areas and cosy, comfortable bedrooms, coupled with super easy access both from the M4 and into Bath make it perfect for group gatherings. The house has been decorated and furnished in a stylish, yet comfortable way, with lots of luxurious touches here and there. The party room is brill, with its mini cinema, popcorn machine and cocktail bar! Only £20 cab journey into central Bath, 15mins approx. Highly recommend!

“A little piece of heaven”

What a gem of a house! Beautifully set out and in a wonderful location, this is everything you could ask for in an idyllic country retreat. The house itself is beautiful and yet comfortable at the same time - a well decked out kitchen (with all mod cons and a 'proper' larder), eating area (excellent for children's 'feeding time') and large communal dining space (for grown up time and family breakfasts); a spacious lounge for evenings watching the roaring fire; the cinema/garden room which delighted both football-loving husbands and little girls alike (particularly when we filled it with balloons on the morning of my daughter's second birthday...) and a spacious garden complete with BBQ and croquet lawn just made for long summer afternoons and evenings. Having Dyrham park literally on the doorstep (you can see the entrance from the end of the drive) was a wonderful treat. Afternoons were spent deer stalking, pond dipping and lazing around to jazz on the lawn. It was lovely to be able to wander in and out at our leisure and feel like one of the locals. There is also lots to do outside the park - proximity to Bath (about a 20 minute drive away) allowed for a rainy afternoon visit to the famous Roman baths - the Avon Valley steam railway within fifteen minutes drive was a real treat for the kids, and we even ambitiously took three children under six for a morning row on the river! A beautiful location for a perfect holiday with family and friends. We'd certainly recommend (and have already bored all our friends with descriptions of how lovely it was) and would definitely like to return.

Owner's reply: Delighted to hear you had such a lovely time - you are welcome back anytime!

“Stunning setting, amazing property...”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2013

We have just returned from 2 nights at this property in Dyrham near Bath. Wow what a place! It completely surpassed our expectations. Beautifully furnished..it felt like we'd arrived at a boutique hotel, though it was all for us! Our 2 young boys came and although the property is of a really high end finish, it felt comfortable enough to have our children roaming around and immediately felt really homely/cosy. The setting is stunning. It's peaceful though you don't feel too cut off with Dyrham Park a 2 min stroll down the end of their private road and also Bath itself only 15 mins by car so we had the best of both worlds. We would definitely book this place again and have already discussed going with another couple for a fun weekend away...love the cinema room/cocktail bar..fab! The only negative was having to leave too soon and return to our own home...depressing! We'll be back.
