“The ideal accommodation for a wonderful family holiday.”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2014

Ty'n Y Clawdd is a lovely Welsh cottage that has been modernised to a very high standard but totally in keeping with the character of the place. It is very clean ,comfortable and well maintained - in fact fully equipped with everything a family could need for an enjoyable stay. We particularly liked the sandpit for the children and the large safe garden - and there is even a dog run and kennels so if you need to you can leave your pet and go off out for the day without worrying about them. The owners Gill and Dave are extremely helpful and even kind enough to send on your stuff if you inadvertently leave it behind (!) We would totally recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a great holiday in North Wales.

Many thanks for taking the time to write this review for us. So pleased you had a wonderful holiday and that the cottage had everything you needed. Hope to see you again soon. Dave and Gill.

“Homely, immaculate, character cottage with everything needed provided”

Super period cottage with fabulous garden for children / dogs. We stayed in Feb with three generations of family and it suited everyone. Really homely, very spacious, plenty of parking and absolutely everything provided. Great location for Barmouth or exploring the surrounding areas. Owners lovely and supremely helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We are now booking for 2015 if there are any dates you would like to consider. Thanks once again for taking the time to do this review for us. Dave and Gill.

“Second to none in every respect. Stay here - you will not be dissapointed”

Reviewed 13 Mar 2014

We'd stayed in Barmouth before, and were delighted to find this detached house at a great rate before the season starts in earnest. Everything in the house is catered for - fit for 6, there is even a tv in the bottom bunk bed to suit the kids! Detailing is immaculate, and the little things are all thought of, including a torch on the side of the fridge for power cuts. Clearly this house is the result of the owners knowing how to do it; it doesn't just happen like this by chance. There is nothing left to chance, and even a cupboard full of barbeque friendly plates and cups. Beautiful bath, two showers, and hard flooring throughout to ease the maintenance should the Welsh weather be, shall we say, Welsh. During our stay it was glorious, and although most seasonal attractions may be half-closed, Snowdon is always going to be open, along with all the best that Wales offers for free. Well done Gill and David, you're a credit to the self-catering industry who rely on decent people to provide great quality at a sensible price. I wish you well in the future. Noel Durdant-Hollamby

Many thanks Noel for such a rewarding review. It means so much to have all our efforts really appreciated. Thank you. David and Gill Tomkins.

“Home from home”

Really enjoyed it. So much so, we have booked to stay again in june,2013. Dogs loved the, garden. Cottage has everything you could need. Lovely and cosy. Our only criticism is settees need to be in another position to view tv comfortably. Minor thing.

Thank you for finding the time to write a review for us and for booking again for a return visit in 2013. The settees have been moved to improve the viewing of the TV. We do find that different visitors move them to suit each stay, so please feel free to move them around to suit your visit next time. Thanks again. See you next year, glad you liked the cottage and enjoyed your stay.

“lovely relaxing short break”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2012

visited with husband and two dogs. on arrival the cottage was clean ,comfy and very homely. cottage is well equiped to cater for for either families or couples. kitchen well equiped and ample fridge freezer space for a larger family. useful downstairs bathroom too. the secure built in stair gate at bottom of stairs is beneficial to ensure children or pets are safely supervised inside the cottage. bedrooms were clean and ample wardrobe space. the garden and paddock were great and secure for our dogs,- there are padlocked kennels if required, which were well maintained as was the garden generally.. the outdoor play area for children is an added bonus with both a bbq area and an outdoor sheltered area for not so sunny days. barmouth is a short car ride and the beach is long and sandy.there are plenty of other places of interest within a reasonable driving distance. would reccomend a car if you have small children or pets because the property is situated on a main road where there is no pedestrian pavement to walk on in places. traffic noise was acceptable for us and wasnt excessive. overall a great place to stay and would definitely recommend. booking with the owner was, promptly dealt with and straightforward. we had a lovely relaxing short break in this great cottage.

Many thanks for such a great review, we try hard to keep the cottage in really good running order thoughout the year, 2012 has been very busy for us, with almost every week booked, with lots of repeat bookings. We really appreciate your comments and so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope you will visit Ty'n Y Clawdd again soon. Thanks again.

“Fantastic accommodation, I can't recommend it highly enough”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2012

Ty'n Y Clawdd is the best appointed self-catering accommodation I've stayed in, everything you need and more: all the mod cons plus a large selection of books, games and movies; a beautiful garden with tree swing and benches, plus sand pit and ride on toys for the smaller kids and goalposts for the older kids, a large open patio area with bbq plus covered patio area with chimnea and fun little caravan to boot! Our party ranged from 22 months to 75 years, plus the dog, and we all loved it. A great base to explore the fantastic countryside and coastline. I can't recommend it highly enough and definitely hope to go back again.

Many thanks for such a glowing review. We really hope you decide to come back and visit us again in 2013. Thanks again.

“A wonderful warm comfortable cottage!”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2011

We had a short break here during October half term. The cottage is a perfect "home from home". Everything has been thought of with the cottage and garden. The childrens play area is ideal, the large garden area with goal net perfect for our boys!! Inside the cottage has everything to cover our every need from washing machine to films, books and toys. The fire in particular is a special treat after an afternoon exploring the beach in the wind and rain. Good, pleasant communication with the owner too. A perfect getaway to unwind.

Many thanks once again to our very kind visitors for giving us such a lovely review. It means a great deal to us that families can go and relax, really enjoy their holiday at our cottage....and get value for money. Dave and Gill Tomkins.

Thanks for a smashing review. Better get more logs chopped for your next visit. Thank you for your custom, really appreciate it.
