Willington Hall Cottage is a Grade 2 Listed stone built cottage dating back to the mid 1600's. It has recently undergone a period of careful restoration and refurbishment, retaining its charm and character with finishes to an exceptional high standard worthy of its Visit England 5 Star Rating.

This delightful cottage sleeps 4 people, plus a cot and is suitable for couples, families, walkers and cyclists alike who wish to have a comfortable luxurious base to relax and enjoy their stay. It is ideally situated to enable you to discover the beauty of Weardale, the historic city of Durham with its famous world heritage site one of its popular attractions with easy access to the many places of interest in the North East of England.

The cottage is 7 miles from Durham City and also with-in easy reach of the dales. A bus stop is conveniently placed 200 metres from the cottage with a regular bus service.

The spacious accommodation incorporates original stone fire places, a cosy lounge with wood burning stove, fitted oak kitchen with island fully equipped with all accessories and integrated appliances, Dolce gusto coffee machine, etc. and granite work surfaces, large spacious open plan kitchen/dining area, ground floor WC/Shower room, double and twin bedrooms with high vaulted ceilings complete with chandelier light fittings and TV/DVD, luxury en-suite facilities including whirlpool bath and large shower, TV/Freesat, free super-fast fibre broadband Wi-Fi and gas central heating.

Externally there is private off-road parking for several vehicles with a rear garden complete with patio area and furniture.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
