We would like to welcome you to our sunny beachfront apartment in Duquesa port in Costa del Sol (Spain). Our self catering holiday rental apartment is right next to Duquesa Port and Marina in the middle of Costa del Sol. Enjoy Spain's finest beaches, the sea life and lots of activities. Beach holidays at its best!
The apartment has been furnished to a very high standard and enjoys sea views and a southwest orientation that brings sun all day long. It comfortably accommodates four people and a fifth guest is also possible. Its privileged position within a fantastic holiday complex (Marina de la Duquesa) brings many hours of sun to the property while allowing guests to benefit from sea views across the communal swimming pools and gardens.
Our holiday rental apartment is ideally situated next to the pittoresque port of Marina de la Duquesa in the west Costa del Sol of Spain. The apartment's location permits our guests to enjoy Duquesa´s bars and restaurants while away of noisy night life.
Duquesa beach is right in front of the apartment!
There is a terraced area that is perfect to enjoy meals outside or a few drinks as the sun goes down.
The apartment has one double and one twin bedroom with an extra roll out single bed if required. Originally fitted out to a high standard it has been recently uplifted to a modern look and presentation. It has central air conditioning and heating. All furniture is new and modern and it has been tastefully decorated.
The apartment enjoys all the mod cons and has every item you would expect in your own home including CD player, DVD player, a NEW flat screen TV, dishwasher, a utility room with washing machine, oven, microwave and a large fridge-freezer. It includes free broadband internet access.
Don't worry about the loss of English satellite TV in Costa del Sol!! You'll be able to watch internet-tv on our flat screen TV thanks to our fast connection. All you have to do is bring a laptop with you and connect it to our TV with an HDMI cable (we will supply one and give you all needed instructions). Then you'll be able to watch any channel from Filmon or a similar internet-tv provider directly in the TV.
The apartment has a private underground parking space.
The complex is fenced and enjoys 24hs private security.
The urbanisation is very secure for children: it is fenced and there is a lifeguard service during the summer.
Marina de la Duquesa is a very desirable and attractive holiday resort for everyone due to its superior facilities and unbeatable location: less than 50 m away from the bustling Duquesa Port and Marina with his great variety of bars and restaurants to suit everybody's taste. Those looking for a more Spanish flavour can try local restaurants in El Castillo de la Duquesa (150 meters away) or in Sabinillas town.
Resort facilities include 4 swimming pools, Paddle tennis courts, Sauna (only in Winter and not always available, please, ask), Games room, Gym, 24hr security, direct beach access and underground parking. All sun beds lying in communal areas are free to use by guests.
This property is highly recommended for those looking for beach holidays while wanting to be within easy walking distance to all amenities.

Owner's reply: As the rate in this review is lower than the one we got in Owners Direct after this family's stay in August (we don't understand why as it is the same stay; we also can't understand why an apartment that was nicely furnished has now become "simple"), we would like to respond with the original review for this trip as can be read in our Owners Direct advert: "I would definitely recommend holidaying at La Duquesa - Alvaro's apartment overlooks one of four swimming pools in a large complex. We decided, based on previous recommendations, not to hire a car and did not regret it. We wanted a 'flop and drop' holiday which is exactly what my husband, plus our two teenagers (girl & boy) got - with a beautiful beach literally on our doorstep our only major decision each day was pool - which one, or the beach! Thank you to previous people who left the beach mat and umbrella, most welcome! The port caters for the Brits in Spain, with some great restaurants and bars, whilst to the left Sabinillas has a more traditional Spanish feel, complete with tapas bars and fishermen barbecuing in up turned boats. The apartment itself is nicely furnished - having a dishwasher was a real benefit so that when we did eat in there was little washing up! The kids were happy with the wi-fi and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening sun. We did hire bikes which meant we could visit the furthest beach bar restaurants - Chiringuito Floria, well worth a visit, definitely the best prawn pil pil and sangria by far! Next year the coastal path should be finished so you can cycle through to Sotogrande, as it's flat it's a relatively easy. A big thank you to Alvaro, who always promptly replied to my queries and was great organising our transfer. If you do decide to go in the height of season be mindful that the lifeguards do enforce the 'no ball' rule and definitely no inflatables in the pool."

“WONDERFUL HOLIDAY AND GREAT APARTMENT!”
The apartment has a great location - near to everything such as the beaches, beachwalks, restaurants... The communication with the owner has been very good and all the information we got was correct! It also felt safe to have a name and phonenumber to a local person if anything should happen. The apartment was comfortable, clean and nice with lovely sunny afternoons until 18:00 on the balcony! We had perfect weather with sun and sometimes heavy wind during our 16 days! LaDuqusea is a good startpoint for different excursions. Every day we went to different places where we walked around to watch different birds along the sea or the big rivers, several times to the mountain village Casares with hundreds of big griffon vultures, falcones, some eagles. Amazing was the pair of Minervaowls (little owl) shouting every evening and night in our house yard!! Of course we enjoyed all the lovely springflowers ! Owner's reply: This couple was abusive and unpleasant with our staff. One minute after their arrival, K. was on the phone yelling that there was no Wifi (she hadn't turned the router on). Later that day, she complained about the bedding (in a very aggressive tone) and we immediately changed it to meet her requirements. A couple of hours later she requested another security card which (this is true) we couldn't provide (there's only one for each apartment-this is a fixed community rule). Next day they wanted another set of keys and we did provide it. Later on the same day she complained about the freezer being too frosty. The following day she said the iron wasn't safe (we gave her a new one). And they kept complaining for 14 days: they even complained about the children making noise, in a holiday complex! And then for the great finale: they left the apartment in an appalling state including some unidentified greasy substance which they poured all over the apartment. We are very happy to read that they wouldn't return to our apartment as we certainly wouldn't welcome them and we don't recommend them to any rental owners.
