Rustic games barn (table tennis, table football, snooker table). 4 miles down river from Drewsteignton and great riverside pub. Inside, the cottage is Beautifully decorated with all handmade soft furnishings giving the cottage a very homely and welcoming feel. Door into open-plan living/dining room with woodburner, TV/DVD and iPod dock. The kItchen is very well appointed (Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge freezer) with a great range of utensils. Downstairs there is also a smart shower-room (suite). Upstairs, two bedrooms – a pretty double, and another double plus single bed and steep ladder stairs (stairgate) to mezzanine kids play area. Upstairs there is also a stylish family bathroom with bath.

Outside there is a large area of communal grass and the cottage also has its own enclosed, fenced lawned, South- facing garden with table and chairs. There is a stocked, well used bird feeder in the garden which you can enjoy the wide range of birds that come to it from the sofa in the lounge or from the garden. In the evenings you can hear the Owls and watch the bats, deer, badgers, and watch the stars in the dark sky. The Teign Valley is one of the best places to watch the stars are there is very little light pollution. We are also lucky enough to have the best wild swimming spot in the south west within walking distance from the cottage.

A relaxed, peaceful place to stay and wonderful for anyone with a passion for wildlife. Clifford Barton is a great place for kids who will love all the space and the games room which also has a stage for any budding actors. We are also happy to take dogs (max 2) by prior agreement.

Dartmoor, at almost 1000 sq km is the largest and wildest area of open country in Southern England. Consisting of glorious wilderness with open moorland, granite tors, sparkling rivers, abundant wildlife and the renowned Dartmoor ponies. There are many spectacular walks, great pubs….There is so much to do it is difficult to know where to start but why not try horseriding, hiking, cycling, rock climbing, canoeing, abseiling, fishing, golfing, wildlife and birdwatching.

Fingle Woods - over 800 acres of woodland has recently been bought by the National Trust and Woodland Trust and can be explored by nearly 30 miles of newly created tracks and paths. Cycle along the river to the Fingle Bridge Inn for lunch. There is also great wild swimming spot on the River Teign a short walk from the cottage.

It is the ideal base from which to explore some of Britain's most spectacular countryside. No part of the National Park is more than an hour's drive away from the town and most of the well-known beauty spots are close by. Moretonhampstead is almost exactly in the centre of Devon, making it the perfect place from which to visit the north and the south coasts.?
