Description

Located at the foot of a quiet lane, number two Manse Road is one of two former workers cottages which were used during the construction of the Watch Water reservoir and later relocated into the peaceful and picturesque village of Longformacus.

The cottages were extensively upgraded and refurbished in 2012 with an emphasis on sustainability, environmental impact and quality of finish.

Inside the cottage there is an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with Morso wood burning stove, bathroom with full sized bath, MegaFlow shower, under-floor heating and luxury stone tiling, master bedroom with king size double bed, goose down bedding and TV, further bedroom with two single beds and finally a fully equipped study with double aspect window and iMac computer with internet access.

Externally the cottage is clad in attractive western red cedar cladding with gardens to the front, side and rear. Bench seating and a Webber gas-fired barbecue are provided for when weather

For the energetic ones amongst us, the cottage is located on the Southern Upland Way, giving endless walking opportunities right from the front door. There are also numerous local routes with quiet roads popular with cyclists and offering stunning scenery. Fishing is also catered for at the Watch Water (seasonal opening).

Should you prefer to spend your time relaxing, or should weather outdoors force you to, the cottage is provided with satellite TV, numerous up-to-date DVDs, Bose iPod dock, iMac PC with internet access, WiFi, various books and board games. A dishwasher also ensures relaxation time is maximised!

For shopping, dining and days out there are numerous options available in nearby Duns or Gifford, both approximately 15-20 minutes drive away and accessible en route whether you are approaching from the north or the south.

Luxury bed linen and towels are included and small well behaved pets are welcome guests (please check with us first).
