Lausion 3 is a newly renovated apartment situated in the 16th century palace, with the view to the city walls and archeological site.

A combination of old stone walls and modern furniture gives the apartment a very special atmosphere. It consists of a hall with wardrobe, a spacious living room with a leather sitting set, tv and a dining area which includes a fully equipped kitchen. From the living room there are two doors leading to a cosy doublebedded bedroom and a bathroom. The entrance to the palace and the stairs to the apartment have also recently been renovated, during which the special attention was payed to highliting the ancient original details, like the old well and the ornaments above the door.

The Dalmatia region

Dubrovnik is the most well known destination of the Dalmatian Riviera with its famous medieval walled town, museums, churches, art galleries, restaurants and bars.

Lokrum island, a UNESCO protected site, which houses the ruins of a former monastery and fort, plus a restaurant and plenty of secluded beaches.

Elafiti islands are really a perfect getaway from city crowds. The most popular islands are Kolocep, Lopud and Šipan and are also the only inhabited islands.

Mljet Island is famous for its natural beauty and the west part is a National park. The park is definitely worth a trip.

Peljesac Peninsula is well known for its wines. The whole peninsula is covered with dense evergreen and Mediterranean vegetation. On your way, do not miss to stop at Ston, famous for its shellfish restaurants -the best in the region- which offer oysters as a specialty.


Dubrovnik is a remarkably well-preserved example of a late-medieval walled city, with a regular street layout. Among the outstanding medieval, Renaissance and Baroque monuments within the magnificent fortifications and the monumental gates to the city are the Town Hall (now the Rector's Palace), dating from the 11th century; the Franciscan Monastery (completed in the 14th century, but now largely Baroque in appearance) with its imposing church; the extensive Dominican Monastery; the cathedral (rebuilt after the 1667 earthquake); the customs house (Sponza), the eclectic appearance of which reveals the fact that it is the work of several hands over many years; and a number of other Baroque churches, such as that of St Blaise (patron saint of the city).

The island of Lokrum lies to the south-east of Dubrovnik, some 500 m from the coast. In 1023 it became a Benedictine abbey, the first of several in the Republic of Dubrovnik. It was continually enlarged in succeeding centuries, passing to the Congregation of St Justina of Padua in the late 15th century, when a new monastery was built in Gothic-Renaissance style to the south of the ruins of the Benedictine establishment. During their occupation of the island in the early 19th century the French began work on the construction of the Fort Royal Fortress, which was completed by the Austrians in the 1830s. In 1859 Archduke Maximilian of Austria (later Emperor of Mexico) bought the island with the intention of building a villa in classical style on the ruins of the Benedictine abbey, but only a small part of this work was completed

Even famous persons like Dubrovnik too; Steven Spielberg comes to Dubrovnik every year, thrilled with the town where he manages to have his privacy, the princess Carolina of Monaco with her family and many other members of the jet set. The only problem in Dubrovnik, that seems to be irresolvable, is the lack of parking spaces, so we can say that finding a parking spot in Dubrovnik is equal to winning the lottery.

"Lovely apartment, great location"

This is a lovely, newly refurbished apartment that ticks all the boxes. The best thing by far is the location - right in the old town so just literally steps away from everything. Only one TINY downside and that is that the sheets are not cotton (Raul sort it out!) but everything is spotlessly clean with loads of space for everything. It is nice to be in an apartment rather than a hotel room as you can 'spread out' a bit! Raul's assistant was great and helped us when I foolishly locked the safe incorrectly with all our stuff inside it!! We also used Raul's guys to pick us up from the airport which was helpful too. Oh and there is free wifi in the apartment... Overall I can thoroughly recommend staying here.

"Well equipped apartment (new conversion) in quiet location away from the crowds"

This apartment has recently been opened after completion of the conversion of this part of the building, and provides an excellent base for a stay in Dubrovnik. It is on the second floor overlooking the walls near the maritime museum and cathedral. The street below is not a thoroughfare, so is quiet (also, the cathedral bells don't ring at night). The apartment has a great ambiance with it's exposed stonework, modern lighting and furniture, and lots of windows. Comfortable bed, aircon if needed, wifi, plenty of hot water. We took up the offer of a transfer from the airport 200 kuna and 20 minutes drive, and were met upon arrival at Ploce Gate by Raul's assistant Ariana. She guided us through the streets to the apartment, pointing out restaurants, shops and points of interest on the way. Ariana was always available by phone/text to deal with any queries about the apartment or to help with restaurant/excursion recommendations. If there's a negative, it is that noise travels readily from the other Lausion apartment next door, so hope for neighbours with similar sleeping hours to yours. Our only issue in this respect was when the neighbours packed and departed for the airport at 3am. Recommended nearby restaurants (within 3 minutes walk)... Storia (Italian) Azur (Croatian/Fusion) both excellent value and good quality
