“Perfect stay”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2013

Lovely people running the accommodation, beautiful well-appointed flat with the most stunning view imaginable. Would return there without hesitation. Not for people who don't like walking or are unfit, because of the height. Still, it was worth it for us. (I was the oldest at 59 and it was OK - not sure what is meant by "older" below. It's more to do with general fitness). There is a decent little supermarket close by. Distance from restaurants is also not too far for walking out in the evening and coming home after a meal. If booking from Australia, making the deposit took a while to work out because European banking codes and prefixes are different - you have to know what IBAN is.

“Spectacular holiday accommodation, fantastic location and the owners are friendly and professional”

This is an upmarket luxury apartment with magnificent views of the old city walls and Dubrovnik harbour. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and go to great lengths to ensure that your stay is relaxed and enjoyable. Marijana and Christijan were always available to answer questions and to guide us in relation to what to do and how to make the most of our stay. Even grandma Veronika relayed her local knowledge to us regularly so that we could have a great time.

“What you see is what you get”

This is a quality apartment in a quality location. The view over the old town is stunning. As is obvious from the website this part of Dubrovnik is built on a steep hill. Nature's payback for the view, I suppose, but you have to be reasonably fit to get around on foot. However, two of us are over sixty and we managed without too much difficulty. The attractions of the old town are close to hand and the Ficovic family are very pleasant and welcoming people.

“Fabulous view,impeccably clean,lovely people!”

We stayed at Apartment Laura run by Marijana and Christians with another couple and would not hesitate to recommend the apartment. The photographs do not lie and in addition we had a large double room as well as a large double there was a good sized single bed too also another double sized room with two beds and a cot. Other combinations could be arranged I believe.Plenty of storage/space and a good sized bathroom(shower over the bath with enclosure)The walk down to the Old Town is approximately 10-15 mins via steps or slopes,we appreciated the exercise and the fact that we were above Old Town(had peace, space and views)and not in it. There is a small supermarket just below the apartment. We paid 35 euros each way for transport laid on by Christian from the airport which is a 20min drive away at most. We would also recommend this door to door transport. Dubrovnik is beautiful, warm and friendly and a stay at this apartment would complete your trip!

“Perfect for Exploring the old Town and Stunning views”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2012

We arrived on the Tuesday (as a group, two sets of parents with a chld under 1 each) and it was a pleasure to find such a tidy and modern apartment! The communication between Marijana (the owner) and myself was great and any questions i had (regarding travel cots/ameneties for the babies were answered promptly and politely). The first thing we saw upon entering the apartment was the view from the triple aspect french windows .. AMAZING! we arrived at sunset and boy did that put a smile on our faces. The apartment is very high up, set back from the harbour (the town graduates up the side of the cliffs) however apart from this being a lot of hard work with buggies, it gave us the most amazing views of the old town and the island. The apartment is a two bedroom, but the main bedroom has a double bed and another single - with room for a travel cot too) and the second bedroom has two single beds and a cot bed. The kitchen has good facilites (but we were lost without a microwave) and the lounge/dining area was bright, spacious and modern. Marijana and her husband were wonderful in helping us to the very end of our stay and i would highly recommend this apartment to friends and family. The apartment is approximatley a 15/20 minute walk (down the main roads) to the old town .. (probably 15 minutes if you use all the steps)

“beautiful apartment, beautiful view”

We spent a week in this apartment between 1st and 7th August 2012. We booked at the last minute (there had been a cancellation). We loved the look of the photos on the website and the price was reasonable. The owners were very helpful, getting back to us immediately by e-mail to confirm that the flat was available and offering to pick us up from the airport at a small extra charge - an offer which we gladly accepted. When we arrived the owners helpfully showed us around the flat before leaving us to settle in. The apartment comprises a very large open-plan kitchen and living area, two bedrooms and bathroom. We found it even better than we had expected. It is very spacious, clean and well decorated. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and well-equiped. In the living room / dining area there are three large glass sliding doors facing towards the sea. When these are open fully there is the sense of being outside. When they are closed they keep out the heat and the glare because they are tinted. The view from these windows - over the island of Lokrum and the Old Town - is absolutely breathtaking. The weather was very hot during our stay, which was great, but the apartment has a good air conditioning system so we were able to stay cool indoors when we wanted. We spent most days on the island of Lokrum sunbathing and swimming, which was just the slow-paced holiday we wanted. We had some lovely meals out in the Old Town in the evenings and also managed a concert on our last night. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and we would definitely return.

“excellent location and fantastic views, outstanding design and good maintenance”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2011

After our almost two-months stay I would like to say that we were fully pleased by the appt and its maintenance; needless to say that we were not experiencing any issues with having our baby there and finding necessary stuff for it. Everything was clean and easy to use. Usual top season summer noise can be avoided by two ways - either you should join it and have even more fun or just close the windows (as we did, since the baby went to bed respectively early). Good point at having air conditioning at hand. Very good that it is located in the main open space - no fear to get cold. Spacious bathroom with a bath was also a plus whet someone is assisting you with the baby. Good TV and music equipment allowed to with news in native language and movies with good sound system. Table and the dining group was a bit gorgeous for a common dinner, but still we got used to this piece of a chick. During the evenings the panoramic views and the atmosphere made a special charm and added romantic feelings. We would definitely get back again one day to the Dubrovnik and will not be looking for something else.
