Dubrovnik

Old Town Dubrovnik is a medieval city on the Croatian side of the Adriatic coastline and a treasure - trove of cultural - historical monuments that were created throughout its thousand-year existence. In the past, it was a City-Republic, and alongside Venice one of the most famous cultural-economic centers on the Mediterranean. In more recent times, it has become the center of modern cultural and tourist events: a city of summer festivals – an international parade of top musical and theatrical achievements, a city of museums and galleries. These values have turned Dubrovnik into a place that offers a rich selection of various experiences and excitement, but also a complete holiday in a quiet and calming, mild Mediterranean ambience and wonderful seaside landscapes

“Excellent Apartment!!! Wonderful time had by all!!!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2015

My wife and I and our teenage daughter and son stayed at House Hilda 1 in July 2015. It is an immaculate and very well equipped apartment, with excellent Air-Con and WIFI, situated in the upper part of the old town. Srdan, our host was extremely welcoming and helpful getting us settled in and sorting out parking. Generally would not recommend bringing a car as parking near the old town is very difficult and there are loads of buses and taxis about if you need to get anywhere. Coach day trips are also run to Mostar and Montenegro from Dubrovnik if you wanted to see those. There are loads of restaurants, bars and shops in the old town and plenty to do to keep everyone happy. We all did the kayak trip around the island at dusk, which was great!!! We walked the city walls (got some great shots of the old town), went on a Segway tour around the harbour (very good fun!!!), Went on a 'Game of Thrones walking tour, which our daughter loved! Took the trip up on the cable car...terrific views, but a bit pricey. The old town at night, with all its' lights, bustle and music playing is a truly magical experience!!!

Thanks Richard, glad You and Your family liked it.Hope to see You again Srdan

“Gorgeous place and very welcoming”

Myself, husband and two young children had a wonderful time in Dubrovnik. The accommodation suited us very well and is in a lovely location (a few steps to climb, but my children enjoyed counting them). The owner Srdan was so very helpful and friendly and his wife also. Srdan met us at the gate into the old town and helped us with our bags to the apartment. The apartment was a lovely size and very clean. Beds were very comfortable and it even had an outdoor area to sit out which was lovely. We found a lovely restaurant called 'Lady Pi Pi' just up the stairs and round the corner...food was gorgeous. Definately worth a visit but be warned it does get busy. Thank you Srdan, we hope to visit again some time x

Hi thank You for great review ,it was pleasure to meet You and Your family Srdan

“Idyllic !!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2013

I stayed here for four nights with my sister and my best friend. The apartment is perfect - typically Croatian. Srdan and his wife are lovely friendly people. His wife ferried us from and to the airport and Srdan helped us with our bags from the taxi to the apartment, which looks out on to a lovely quiet, rustic courtyard area. We managed to cram in so much sightseeing in this beautiful city, there are so many places of interest to see. We also walked around the island of Lockrum and visited the fort there. A word of advice, part of the path is made of thick clay like soil which, when damp, sticks to you shoes like glue, make sure you wear sturdy footwear. We then spent the day in Cavtat, which was well worth it. It's so beautiful and serene after the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik. Lastly, there are six gorgeous little kittens who play in the courtyard at the front of the apartment. If you're going soon, look out for the two tiny grey ones, they're irresistible !!!.
