Getting around

The tram service 'LUAS' stops at Smithfield, with only three stops further to O'Connell Street - the city's main street. The line runs in the other direction to the foothills of the Dublin mountains. There are buses to all parts of Dublin from the city center. There is a light rail service 'DART' that runs along the seafront for about twenty miles north and south of the city center to scenic villages along the coast. There are also several sight seeing tours of the city and further afield to choose from.

Interaction with guest

I am happy to offer my guests advice and help in anyway I can to make the most of their visit to Dublin. After check in I generally leave guests to themselves I have a second home nearby and when needed I can be around to the apartment in a short time. I am contactable by mobile phone at any time.

“Good Location but a little TLC needed”

I stayed here with my partner for 5 days in March. The apartment was in a good location with good local access to the city centre and Trams. Security was very good and we felt safe. The apartment itself was in need of redecoration and we felt it looked a little tired. The TV was not a TV but it was a computer ! You could access recent news footage through websites, but not live TV. The kitchen was open plan and immediately adjacent to the living area, meaning cooking smells were all around. The kitchen had very little storage areas for food if, like us, you are cooking full meals every day and not eating out. It would have been ok if all you are doing is having breakfast in the apartment each day. Beds were comfortable, but one bedroom overlooks a narrow back street which is amazingly busy and noisy from as early as 5.30am each day, and would be no good for light sleepers ! Also, to take refuse out involves getting a lift down three floors, walking outside into the street, and then down another flight of stairs into an underground car park ! The owners were very attentive and friendly to us, and helped where they could, but we felt a little dissappointed by the appearance of the property, and also its size, which looked bigger on the website photos. We would have to think seriously before contemplating a return to this property.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the feedback. I am always eager to provide a first class experience for my guests. On this occasion this was not as hoped for. It is regrettable that you considered the overall appearable to be a 'little tired'. This will be corrected in the near future when the entire apartment is repainted and other improvements made. This is something that is under constant review so your opinion is valued. On the issue of street noise. The area is usually very quiet at night so your experience was more the exception than the rule. I can only suggest that some of the many thousands of visitors who were in the city for the Saint Patrcks's Day Festival the previous weekend were still making merry during days while you were staying. Just bad timing for you.! The total area of the apartment is 65M2 as indicated on the listing. The photos were done by a professional photgrapher assigned by TripAdvisor and I believe they are a fair represention of what is on offer. Anyway your feedback and advice is greatly appreciated and I will certainly give your comments and advice full consideration going forward.
