The locals are very friendly and there is lots to see and doMALAHIDE BEACH & COASTAL WALKMalahide is also home to golden sandy beaches, miles of rugged coastline and stunning views of Lambay Island, the Howth peninsula and Dublin Bay. Relax on the beach, go for a swim or take in the sea air and beautiful scenery on this lovely coastal walk.MALAHIDE CASTLEMalahide Castle, set on 250 acres of park land in the pretty seaside town of Malahide, was both a fortress and a private home for nearly 800 years and is an interesting mix of architectural styles. The Talbot family lived here from 1185 to 1973, when the last Talbot died. The house is furnished with beautiful period furniture together with an extensive collection of Irish portrait paintings, mainly from the National Gallery. The history of the Talbot family is recorded in the Great Hall, where portraits of generations of the family tell their own story of Ireland's stormy history. Many additions and alterations have been made to this romantic and beautiful structure, but the contours of the surrounding park lands have changed little in 800 years, retaining a sense of the past.MALAHIDE MARINAThe Marina supplies one of the iconic picture postcard views of Malahide with hundreds of yachts moored against the horizon. The Marina is one of the largest in Dublin with over 300 berths, combined with the well established yacht club makes Malahide a popular destination for visiting yachts from Ireland and overseas while the sheltered Broadmeadow estuary is ideal for dingy sailing, kayaking and windsurfing.Malahide is situated 10 minutes from Dublin Airport and 20 minutes from Dublin City Center.

“Amazing hospitality, great house, 10/10 experience!”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2016

Our family of 9 had traveled from across the world to meet at Des and Sinead's for Christmas 2015. From the outset, Des was incredibly helpful with accommodating our requests and ensuring a smooth booking process. Sinead met us at the airport and offered great local knowledge of what to do and where to go. While staying at the house Des and Sinead made us feel right at home and were incredibly generous with their time and warm hospitality, especially as it was over the Christmas period. As there were 9 of us, the house was more than big enough to comfortably accommodate everyone and the kitchen/dining area provided a great central location for everyone to come together and cook their own meals. The house is located very close to the Malahide town centre (which boasts some great local pubs and attractions) and is easily accessible to Dublin as we caught both the bus and taxi's there. Overall, Des and Sinead provided us with a 10/10 service and we cannot recommend them highly enough. They made our stay truly enjoyable and memorable! Thank you guys!

“Everything catered for”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2014

Excellent faultless attentive are some of the attributes of the service and family welcome which began at the airport and continued until departure.Ideally situated for Malahide and Dublin ctr.The rooms (as we went in every one)! were spotless, comfortable and welcoming, with the most utilized room being the kitchen, as this is were the beer flowed, breakfast arrived perfectly created as and when required. I would recommend Des & Sinead (Timmy & Coney) to everyone. We will return if only to buy them a drink Thanks Philip & Tracey

“Wonderful”

Reviewed 15 Nov 2013

We stayed here on two occasions and felt welcome both times. Our hosts were exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and the choice of continental breakfast was good. Public transport to Dublin CBD was handy (though not always frequent), and being picked up and dropped off at the airport was brilliant.

“The best Bed and Breakfast ever”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2013

We, family of three, young son of 9 years, stayed 3 days last week with Des and Sinead. They are best hosts you will ever meet, rooms are modern and impeccably clean, breakfast entirely customized to your every desire. Des and Sinead do everything possible in their power to make your stay enjoyable. They give great recommendations for worthwhile places to visit, including culture, nature and playgrounds (very important, of course). We will be back for sure!

“Great place, and Des and Senead treated me like family.”

The Bus stop is a 5 minute walk, where you can get to the City center. Whenever I am in Dublin I will be staying there.
