Description from owner

Located on the outskirts of the Stirlingshire village of Balfron, Edenwood Cottage is the perfect base for your holiday. With stunning views across to the Campsie Fells you will fall in love with this little haven. Balfron is just 20 minutes from the village of Balmaha on the shores of Loch Lomond where you can spend the day on the beautiful beaches, or maybe you would prefer exploring the nearby Trossachs, homeland of the notorious Rob Roy MacGregor. The historical city of Stirling with its majestic castle is just 20 miles away, as is the bustling city of Glasgow. Furnished and equipped to a high standard this self-catering cottage sleeps four people accommodated in a double and a twin room - we can also supply a cot and highchair on request. The living room has a wood burning stove and comfy sofas, so even if the weather is not so good you can still enjoy the amazing scenery. There is a well equipped kitchen for those that enjoy cooking, dining room with additional TV, and a small utility room with washer/drier.The shower room has a large walk-in shower - there is no bath at this property. The south facing garden is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views, along with the many wild visitors - deer, pheasants and hares are frequently to be found in the garden.

Dogs welcome.

Interaction with guest

I like to meet guests on arrival but if I'm unable to do so then I catch up as soon as possible to introduce myself and make sure that everything is okay. Our own cottage is just 5 minutes away so there is always someone on hand to deal with any queries during your stay.

Very Good

“Lovely cottage great location & pet friendly”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2017

The cottage has everything & more that you could want or need. Beautifully furnished and clean. Location superb to visit many lovely places. The owner Kim left treats for us as well as our dog which was a lovely touch, she was always at the end of a phone should we have needed anything. Would recommend this cottage to anyone.

“Well equipped cottage in an ideal location”

Lovely, clean, comfortable cottage with everything you need for a pleasant holiday. The large enclosed garden was perfect for the kids and the dog, and they loved having Doreen the horse in the adjoining field. The location is ideal as it is very close to Aberfoyle and many other places which have a excellent range of outdoor activities. We particularly enjoyed the spectacular gorge walking at the Devil's Pulpit and canoeing on beautiful Loch Ard. Thanks to Kim, an excellent host.

“Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location.”

Fantastic cottage with lovely garden and views. Large fenced off garden, very dog friendly. The cottage is very tastefully decorated with a log burner. We were made to feel very welcome, communication with the owner was excellent. I would recommend this cottage to anyone, we will definitely visit again.

“Lovely cottage, warm, cosy, just modernised, very comfortable.”

Edenwood Cottage is a welcoming little home in lovely countryside near Loch Lomond, within easy reach of Glasgow but a good feeling of being out in peace and quiet. Although it looks small from the outside, the cottage feels spacious and comfortable. We stayed with our son who is a student in Glasgow and our dog was made very welcome too. We all thoroughly enjoyed getting out and about in the hills (the views of the Campsie Fells from the cottage are marvellous) and although it was wet and windy during our stay, being able to come back to the warmth and comfort of Edenwood was great, especially the wood burning stove. All the fixtures and fittings are new and the cottage has been extremely well refurbished throughout. Self catering is well provided for and there is a good range of places to eat out within easy reach. The owner, Kim, is extremely helpful and friendly and we can recommend Edenwood Cottage very highly.

Edenwood cottage lived up to its name, it was perfect, Kim was a lovely host, she met us with a warm welcome, the little touches when we got in made us feel right at home. There was everything you could possibly want in the house, they even had a dog bed and bowls for our 2 dogs. I am really looking forward to another visit :-)
