Description

Kilmichael House is a lovely Victorian House set back from the road, standing alone in its own grounds surrounded by giant Redwood Sequoia Trees. In days gone by Kilmichael was home to the doctor and his surgery was to the rear of the property in a shed (still standing) Today the house has been sympathetically converted into a very comfortable home from home in the Highlands. Many of the period features in the public areas have been retained i.e. window shutters, fireplaces, archways and last but not least the open reception hall with a rather nice, elegant sweeping staircase to the first floor where all the guest bedrooms are located. The bedrooms have either garden views or views over the open fields towards the hills beyond. They offer flexible accommodation options are spacious, light, tastefully furnished and equipped with beverage trays, hairdryers, flatscreen TV/DVD/Radio, (small selection of DVD's are available) and free wi-fi access. Three bedrooms are en-suite and the fourth has a separate bathroom. N.B. the superking room can be used for double /twin occupancy subject to availability and room choice must be requested at time of booking only - rates on request.

Guest parking is free at own risk and is located at the front of the house

Check in time is between 4pm and 7pm and check out is by 10am. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO ALTERNATIVE CHECK IN / OUT TIMES AVAILABLE AT THIS PROPERTY

Visitors should be aware that the entire property is non smoking and we operate a very strict No Food Brought Onto the Premises Policy and nor do we provide Cooking BBQ or Picnic Facilities. Charges will apply for any damages to our property and for any Kilmichael House property removed from the premises including room keys.

Kilmichael House is an adult only house and we do not accommodate children under the age of 18 years of age unless the entire property has been booked for exclusive use and only with prior written agreement from the owner

We do not accept pets nor can they be walked on our premises or allowed to overnight in parked cars on our premises

We offer a great great healthy continental breakfast using which includes Fresh fruit juice (never from concentrate), selection of cereals/museli/granola, Organic natural yoghurt, flavoured yoghurts, cereal bars, fresh fruit salad, secltion of cold ham/cheese, Local bakerybread, croissants, home made jams/marmalades, nutella, syrups, organic peanut butters. and of course tea and good coffee. (Please note our breakfasts are tailored to time of year and in off season months the selection may be reduced/altered i.e. fresh fruit available instead of fresh fruit salad etc,).

Kilmichael House is situated at the edge of the village so for guests walking the Great Glen Way the house is about 600 metres from the walk as is the centre of the village where you will find the very popular Fiddlers Restaurant and its award winning Malt Whisky Bar where you will be assured of a very warm welcome, good food and over 600 malts to choose from - you could be there a while. A little further away is the Lochness Inn where once again good food and a warm welcome awaits. There is also the Benleva Pub popular with the locals offering good qaulity real ales and they also have their own micro brewery. Five miles away is the Clansman Hotel (they offer a pick up service by arrangement) the only hotel this side of the Loch with views over Loch Ness.

Our location is the perfect base from which to enjoy the many outdoor activities/visitor attractions ranging from boat trips on Loch Ness, walking, cycling, riding, castle/museum visits, dolphin spotting or simply enjoying the stunning scenery the list goes on.

Whether you are here for 1 night in or out of season, or indeed taking over the House for your own private get together with friends/family (details on request and it should be noted that exclusive use of the property is only available out of season) you will be assured of a great welcome and happy stay.

Drumnadrochit

Kilmichael House on the A831 from Drumnadrochit to Milton,Beauly and Cannich. The house is in a row of 10 properties on the edge of the village of Drunnadrochit. The properties all stand within their own grounds and vary in style. Kilmichael Hosue is the last house in this group and beyond are open fields to the hills in the dsitance. The Loch Ness 2000 exhibition centre is the nearest attraction which is approximately 600 metres away. Kilmichael House has plenty of parking and there is also a very large public car park located in the village of Drunadrochit where the tourist information centre is also located. The pick up points for the boat trips leave from this car park. There are several restaurants in the village including hotels. The most popular restaurant is Fiddlers Restaurant and award winning Malt Whisky Bar where you are assured of a warm welcome, good food and whisky. The location is beside the Village Green which is about 650 metres from Kilmichael House. In addition to the restaurants there is also the Benleva Pub know for its real ale and also enjoys the benefit of its own on site micro brewery.
