“A lovely cottage in a lovely area.”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

The cottage was very well appointed and spotlessly clean, like a home from home, the owners were friendly and welcoming. The area was peaceful and interesting , good eating out, the weather was really good . The people in this part of Scotland were warm friendly and helpful this is not our first visit to Scotland and it remains our favourite place to have a relaxing break.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the great review and we are so pleased you enjoyed Glen Auchie Cottage and our area. Thank you for the extra information about the area as well, always helps people make up their minds if this is a place they would enjoy. We hope you will come another time. Diane & John x

“Lovely cottage for a peaceful holiday”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2016

Lovely cottage, immaculate throughout and so well equipped with everything you would expect in your own home. However there is no mobile phone reception and no wifi on site so be prepared to be out of touch during your stay unless you venture out! Dogs loved the garden, completely secure so they could run about safely and a pretty lawn area with nice range of bushes and plants. Favourite part was sitting in the conservatory gazing out at the sea, so relaxing.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for lovely review and for staying at Glen Auchie Cottage. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and the dogs enjoyed the garden. I do say to people you can use our telephone anytime also Free Wi fi available 24 hours a day at our B & B - less than 5 minute walk from both our cottages. Also all the local eating places have free wi fi access. Hope you come back another time. Diane & John

“Disappointed”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2016

Misleading information ie WiFi available, yes but not in the cottage no mention you had to go to the owners bed and breakfast.Garden overgrown and scruffy ,we had no dog but found dog dirt next to washing line.on the whole cottage not like photo.Externally needed some TLC especially the conservatory Windows. Bedding on double bed especially fitted sheet was too big for mattress .

Owner's reply: Our cottages are pet friendly and we expect the dog owners to clean up after their dogs, we are sorry you found some dog poo's. Our garden is a mature well kept garden but the week you were on holiday we didn't have time to get the grass cut that day before you arrived due to having 2 cottages to clean on a Saturday as well as B&B. As you didn't have any dogs we didn't think you would be on the grass which was cut the previous Saturday. There is a large gravel and concrete area around the cottage. Regarding the Wifi, we offer free wifi access at our B&B anytime, which is less than 5 minutes walk from both cottages as well as all the local eating places providing free wifi access. Our photos are very accurate of the cottage as I took them myself. Not really sure what you mean by TLC on the conservatory windows, they are in perfect condition. We are sorry if you found the sheets a bit big for the bed but normal king size sheets are too tight for this bed as it has a really deep comfortable matteress. We are only less than 5 minutes walk from cottage and we do say if there is anything not right or you require anything please let us know. We normally don't like to bother people on holiday with a lawnmower noise or ourselves gardening. Our cottages have been full most of the year and the mature garden ready will be cut back into October. Diane & John W
