Description

This newly built small house is fully self contained with kitchen, bedroom, 3 piece bathroom, plumbed hot water to all faucets, outside roofed porch with hammocks, handmade wooden bench-swing, patio table and chairs. It is built using locally cultivated, sustainable hardwoods and is a quality building.

It is located in a private spot on a small hill at the bottom of which the warm waters of the pacific meets the sand beach in front of the house. There is an outdoor wood/charcoal barbeque for your use.

It is about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the nearest village, Agujitas, which has grocery stores, veggie markets, a few restaurants and a couple of bars. Caño Island and Corcovado National Park are easily accessed from this location, as are a multitude of other tours including horseback riding, deep sea fishing, zipline canopy tour, kayaking/SUP boarding, bird watching, night hikes, etc.

Getting around

If you come without a vehicle, everything is within walking distance (20ish minutes to town), and if you would prefer, taxis can be arranged. It costs about $10 each way to the village of Drake Bay. Most tours include transportation from and returning to La Joyita!

Interaction with guest

There is always someone onsite, our family home is located on the same property and easily accessible from La Joyita. We will be there when you arrive to give you a little overview of the cabina, the keys and some general info on the area. If you would like more interaction, we are a friendly crew and have been in the area for over 20 years so we are pretty well informed and have a lot of local knowledge which we are happy to share if you would like! At the same time, we totally understand and respect that you may want privacy and some solo time, so we are happy to adhere to that desire as well! It's your vacation - so you call the shots!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Peter (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
