From the owner

There is a large, nicely furnished, open beamed lounge with a large fireplace and walkout French doors to a large Terrace with tables and chairs, plants and pots, and barbecue. Ideal for outdoor dining. The adjacent Kitchen has all modern appliances including a new fridge / freezer. All utensils, crockery, cutlery etc. supplied.

Two bedrooms upstairs, a double bed in one, three singles in the other, are adjacent to a newly fitted bathroom with Bath/Shower, toilet, wash hand basin, mirrors and lights. A comfortable double sofa bed also graces the Lounge. Electricity will be charged extra at the time of check-out depending on meter reading only in winter months.

Our normal rental is from SATURDAY to SATURDAY, and it is in my custom to require HALF of the rental in advance to ensure your booking, with the balance to be paid not later than 8 WEEKS before you take up your accommodation. A REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT to cover breakages or other damage is also required.

Please indicate the number of Adults and the ages of Children that will be in your party when making your reservation.Please note that out of season comsuption is not included in the price of rental.

The village of Montferrat
There is a post office, 3 bars, 4 restaurants and a bakery where the bread is baked in a wood fired oven. There is also a small general store and a market is held every friday in the village square. The major shopping centre is in DRAGUIGNAN, just 15 kms away. There is a new tennis court in the village and a playground for children (climbing frame,swing set, etc), with a series of WATERFALLS and SWIMMING ponds a short and pleasant walk away. Golf is available within a half hour, Rock CLIMBING 4kms away in Chateaudouble, winter sports in season, is within a ninety minute drive. There is a farm where you can buy delicious cheeses, Chateau La Garde produces bio wine, the local bakery makes bread in a wood fired oven( excellent croissants, bread....)

Owner's reply:
the people booked for 2 weeks but when they arrived said they could only stay 1 week and wanted a refund for the second week, I refused to give the money back unless I would find new customers for the second week but I did not, they were very angry and told me on the phone I would hear from them, they were very rude with the person who received them. 1 year and a half later they decided to write this nasty review pourquoi ????

As the description says this is a 17c house, what is not mentioned is that the sun doesn't reach the terrace until after 4pm! Shared spiral stone stairs reach the first floor with kitchen, lounge… More

This terrace is ideal for hot summer days, as there is a lot of shade and it keeps it cool, there is no soot in the bedroom as there is no chimney, there is a fire place in the lounge and may be black tar in the pipe could have fallen into the fire place. the stairs are covered with tiles and typical of provencal houses, bed linen towels and tea cloth are provided, the taxe de sejour is 0,60 cents per person per day adults only. there are foreign channels on the colour TV

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
