Description

No. 1 Porthmeor Beach Flats is named 'Hope' after the very first St Ives Lifeboat commissioned in 1838. The flat sleeps 5 and is an ideal getaway for couples and small families at any time of year. St Ives is one of Cornwall's most popular and stylish resorts and is a compact town where everything is within walking distance. The centrally-heated flat is an ideal base whether you want to browse the shops & galleries, walk the coastal path, work your way through the town's many menus or simply spend the day on the beach. The apartment is just yards from the surfers' favourite Porthmeor Beach and only a few minutes' walk from the lively harbour area with its many shops and restaurants, Tate St Ives and the quieter Porthgwidden Beach which is perfect for families with young children.

In the summer you can walk barefoot round the corner to the beach - search for Porthmeor Beach Flats on Youtube to see just how close to the beach we are.

Location description from owner

The England region

There is a lot to do, see and explore in Cornwall. With the longest stretch of continuous coastline in Britain, you will discover small fishing villages, smuggler's coves, numerous spectacular beaches and sweeping bays, dramatic cliffs and coastlines, plus beautiful moorland and countryside.

West Country

"St Ives has the kind of simple beauty that stops you in your tracks."

Welcome to warm, golden world-class beaches, cobbled streets and alleyways full of history, legend and tradition, winding between quaint fisherman's cottages. St Ives is an international centre for the arts: you can find many unusual and beautiful works in the town's galleries and craft shops or pay a visit to the Barbara Hepworth museum or Tate St Ives.

The town boasts a range of top-quality eateries including Porthgwidden Beach Cafe which is just 3 minutes' walk from the flat.

Excellent surfing is available on Porthmeor Beach and many other water-based activities such as parascending and speedboating are available from the harbour beach. Just out of town can be found excellent golf courses, pitch and putt and go-karting for all the family.

In St Ives and south-west Cornwall you will find the clearest air, the cleanest beaches and scented, sub-tropical gardens. Thanks to Britain's mildest micro-climate, the delights of St Ives and the surrounding area can be enjoyed all year round.

“Fantastic Place”

Reviewed 2 Jun 2014

We were so pleased that we chose to stay at No 1 Porthmeor Beach Flats. The position is perfect for the beach and amazing headland and the quaint old town of St Ives. We never got tired of exploring the area and discovered something new every day. The apartment was great with everything we could possibly ask for. The furnishings were tasteful with a personalized touch. The bed was comfortable with good linen and towels. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen with plenty of utensilles available. Dave, the owner could not have been more helpful. The communication both before, during and after our stay was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to any of my friends.
