Description

We are situated on a country lane with lovely open views, and only 5 minutes drive from the little Medieval town of Castillonnes. Here you have several cafes, two really good restaurants; and fresh local produce can be obtained from the lively weekly market, as well as from excellent local shops. The Dordogne river, chateaux and caves are just an easy drive from here, and we are less than two hour's drive from Bordeaux.

“Relaxing Break”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2016

We were looking for somewhere to stay in the countryside to relax and chill for a few days and could not have asked for a better place to stay. My husband said “listen” once we unpacked the car, and I said “to what” and he said “nothing” it was so quiet all you could hear were the birds, the odd cow and a donkey which was somewhere around. The weather was not that kind to us the first couple of days so we just jumped in the car and drove round a few of the villages and took in the stunning countryside. The last two day the weather was very hot and if you did not like direct sun there were plenty of shaded areas under trees. Vicky and Barry make us very welcome and once they showed us where everything was left us to our own devises. The Cottage was very clean and comfortable with all utensils and cooking facilities required and if we needed anything that was not there we just had to ask. We got all our provisions from the local intermarche which had a good range of produce. Lovely Break thank you Vicky & Barry
