The scenery is breath-taking, spectacular really - no wonder it's a World Heritage site!

Our Marina is a lovely little spot on the river, perfect for people that appreciate nature and outdoor activities.

Nearby there are charming little family-run restaurants where you can have superb meals at very reasonable prices.

You can explore the valley with our boats and stop where ever you like, you can also take tours by train along the valley, walk in the vineyards, visit farms and small towns or simply swim in the warm clear waters of the river.

At the marina our guests also can find: small sail boats, kayaks, bicycles, barbecue, even a swimming pool.

The climate is pleasant from April to October..

“once in a lifetime holiday - fantastic”

How many holidays do you take a train down one of the most beautiful railway lines in Europe (Douro valley line from Porto Campanha to Ferradosa) to be greeted by your host in a speedboat! We arrived in Ferradosa, Jose met us at the station and took us to his complex. The chalets are comfortable and acceptable for two couples (one double bed in the living area). They are air conditioned and have their private sitting area with lots of shade and plenty of hammocks. The views are fantastic. We had access to the swimming pool, kayaks and table tennis. Plenty to explore nearby. We stayed two nights (one at the beginning and one at the end of our boat charter). Jose was very helpful driving me to the local supermarket and showing me the local sites. We ate in the nearby restaurant (5 mins walk) the food was excellent, service was friendly and courteous, good value too. It was a great place to stay relaxed calm and friendly.

The chalets are basic but comfortable - there is lots of shaded space for lounging around outside overlooking the river and the rocky as well as vine clad h;ills. The sailing is great - and there are also canoes and kayaks available (free in 2013). José is a good host - discreet but available and always willing to help you get the best from your holiday. DO say 'yes' if he suggests fish soup......!

“Vineyards, hiking, sailing and relaxation”

We initially booked the holiday, hoping to do some sailing. Unfortunately the weather wasn´t great, so instead we did a lot of hiking in the surounding hills and vineyards. The views are spectacular and the hiking trails well marked. We didn´t rent a car, as the property is easily reached by a lovely train journey along the Douro. Jose and Gustavo were very helpful and friendly and put themselves out to help us,drive us around, show us places of interest and take us shopping. Jose also took us out on a day boat trip and to a lovely local restaurant for a typical local lunch. The location of the chalets is magical - so peaceful and quiet and relaxing, and the little pool is great when the weather is hot. However, without a car, you are very restricted, as there is only one restaurant within walking distance and no shops. September was a great time to visit as it is grape harvest time, so it was very interesting to go around all the wineries, see (and take part in if you want) the grape trampling, and of course sample lots of port.
