Created as a private retreat, The Venetian Terrace, Dorsoduro is ideally suited to up to 4 adults who wish to immerse themselves in a precious slice of authentic Venetian life!
Nestled on the top 2 floors of a quaint waterside building adjacent to Veronese's masterpiece, the Chiesa San Sebastiano, our comfortable holiday home lends itself to very special celebrations, or simply provides for a memorable holiday in this most glorious of cities.
As one of only 2 units in a detached, ancient fisherman's house, we are exposed to sunlight on all 4 sides - a rarity in Venice - and aren't privy to ambient neighbor noise, thus ensuring a very relaxing environment at all times.
Filled with a variety of everyday shops and intimate bars, where you can enjoy a frothy cappuccino and warm brioche alongside our neighbors, and offering a wide array of family-owned restaurants for memorable dining, this highly desirable part of the city imparts a personal glimpse of everyday Venetian life. Carefree children play in the local squares, lovers linger over drinks at nearby outdoor cafés, and daily market stalls simply overflow with an abundance of seasonal produce.
For a true flavor of Venice, this area has it all!
Please note: Unfortunately, our home is not suitable for guests under 18 years of age; however, we are delighted to recommend some suitable alternatives within our immediate vicinity, several with very special canal views.

The Veneto region
Perhaps the most alluring of the six sestieri in Venice, Dorsoduro is much sought after by both homeowners and visitors alike, most notably for its truly authentic ambience.
Crowned by the magnificent dome of Santa Maria della Salute at the head of the Grand Canal, the area contains some of the most picturesque canals and campi in the entire city, and offers a wonderful respite after a day visiting some of Venice's most famous attractions.
Whether visited in the warmer, sunnier summer months or during the colder, foggier days of winter when the city is at its most mysterious and magical, Venice never ceases to inspire, amaze and captivate and leaves visitors with a yearning to return time and time again!
"Our" little corner of Dorsoduro offers guests the opportunity to experience life lived by Venetians on a daily basis!
Locally owned shops, replete with stunning displays of seasonal fruits and vegetables, cheeses, fish and meats, as well as locally bottled wines from the nearby Euganean Hills are all within a couple of minutes' walk from our home. Friendly vendors take great pleasure in offering advice on their best produce and will always ensure that you leave with the perfect ingredients for preparing dinner 'at home'!
Neigbors congregate at local bars and cafés to partake in their breakfast ritual and catch up with friends, family restaurants welcome visitors with enticing Venetian menus and everywhere you go, locals are taking their dogs for walks throughout the day! Children play joyously in the squares, watched over by doting parents and grandparents, teenagers catch up with their friends at nearby pizza vendors or enjoy one another's company over drinks in an outdoor café, whilst elegantly dressed seniors sit on benches under the trees chatting about the day's events!
After a day of sightseeing, there is nothing more pleasurable than returning "home" to the quieter pace of "our" little area, relaxing with an aperitivo either up on the altana or sitting at a table at one of the little outdoor cafés, people watching and participating in the true Venetian lifestyle!
