“Beautiful location and everything we needed”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2016

The barn is located in a stunning setting, in the gardens of a beautiful house. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners - nothing was too much trouble. We arrived after 8pm but we were still greeted with a smile. The barn is very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The location is very quiet, perfect for walking and relaxing. Would be more than happy to stay there again. A most pleasing find!

“Mrs”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2016

Our holidays are always spent with our 'girls' (dogs) as we really wouldn't enjoy a holiday with them in kennels. The barn was absolutely perfect for us, lots of space for my husband, myself and two big dogs, very clean and very light. We wanted a few days away just to relax and chill out, it was so quiet around with no passing traffic or noise that we are use to, just topped it. What made it extra special for us was the huge field we could take our girls on to just run around and be free. With one dog who can't socialise, it made such a difference seeing them also so relaxed, which is something we cannot do at home. Jude was extremely welcoming and showed us everything we needed to know in the barn and surrounding areas. But also allowed us space to enjoy our holiday. We would definitely recommend and will look to return.

“Fantastic Easter Weekend Stay”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2016

My family and myself stayed here over the Easter weekend and we had a lovely time. I received a text from the owner a few days before and one on the day giving us details on arrival etc which I found very helpful. When we arrived we were not disappointed the barn was lovely, very cosy and had full length glass doors in the the lounge which had the best view ever of the owners beautiful house. Jude came over to greet us after we had settled in and was very friendly and gave us some advice on local pubs, restaurants etc. The accommodation was equipped with everything you could need and more, with tv's in all the rooms, speakers and dvd player with lots of dvds and books to read. There were also lots of maps and leaflets for local attractions which we found very useful. We also went for walks across the fields to the rear of the property and this really is an excellent location to explore the Cotswolds. We had a very relaxing short break and would definitely return again and recommend to friends.

“Amazing barn conversion”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2015

This little cottage in the country was absolutely perfect for my family of 5 (kids 11, 10, 7). Peter and Jude could not have been more helpful and gracious. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed and the grounds of the property were beautiful. Despite the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere (which is what we wanted), the house was quite close to everything we intended to do...Redditch to visit family, a walk in the Cotswolds, a day on the river at Stratford, a football game in Birmingham, and a pint in the Old Bull in Inkberrow, etc... I would highly recommend this rental...the owners do a great job keeping the place up and you will not be disappointed.

“A place for relaxation and enjoying nature.”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2015

The place was very up to standard and as described on website. The owners were very friendly and made our stay as comfortable as possible. All rooms were very clean and nicely equipped. The surroundings, I cannot find enough words to describe them and we were allowed to venture around the place. It could be easily reached by a private car equipped with a sat nav/gps given the correct post code. Within an hour and a few minutes we could reach the forest of dean and take adventurous activities over there. Above all it is a quite place to rest.

“Wonderful Find”

Reviewed 17 May 2015

Nothing much to say other than WONDERFUL. What an absolutely wonderful find, such an amazing place to stay. Peter and Jude have one of the most amazing houses we have ever seen, in such a lovely location. The barn is well equipped with everything you need and is very comfortable. It was the first time we took our 8 month old spaniel away and he had such a great time playing in the grounds of the house, so much space for him to run around and the owners were very dog friendly. Will most definitely stay here again would recommend it to anyone, already trying to sort out next visit out. Thank you.

“What a wonderful place!”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2015

We had a lovely weekend at Dovecote Barn. The setting is idyllic, with charming villages and pubs around and a barn set in the grounds of a beautiful old house with huge grounds on which to roam. The cottage itself is small but very well furnished and with a lovely main living space in which to spend any rainy time. We'd come again!

“Complaint :)”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2015

As a female solo traveller looking for a countryside retreat to stay with my dog, I would like to share with you my recent experience at Dovecote Barn. I was pleasantly surprised to find the place so easily, and I was warmly welcomed by both Peter and Judy on my arrival. The cottage was very well presented and the range of supplies provided was more than I expected - just everything you need when you get off the road. The large comfortable beds were fitted with only the best quality linen, and I found myself wanting to stay in bed most mornings! The owners welcomed my friends & family who came to visit, and we were not short of entertainment. The cottage has games, cards, Sky TVs, DVDs, wifi and music speakers, and you are only a short drive away from Stratford Worcester & Cheltenham. I discovered, here you have the best of both the tranquil countryside and the life of nearby cities. You can enjoy peace without feeling isolated. Oh and a short walk away is a lovely country pub that warmly welcomed both me and and my pup and always remembered our names. My dog was far too busy exploring the moat and acres of scenery to spend any time with me! Peter and Judy were surprisingly always on hand when you needed them and never intrusive. Peter kindly drove my friends & I to Cheltenham racecourse with great 'door to door' service for less than a taxi cab. My handbag also broke and Peter kindly fixed this for me without delay - what a star! I stayed for 10 very relaxing days and I can't wait for my next holiday so I can book again. I entitled this review 'complaint' because no one properly reads the good reviews. However, my complaint is simply this.... No other cottage is going to live up to my stay at Dovecote Barn as now my expectations are set very high. Anywhere else I book in future will simply be a disappointment. Thank you Peter and Judy for hosting a wonderful cottage :)

Kim, thank you so much, really appreciate your very kind review and hope to see you again in the future. love jude
