“Comfortable, clean, quiet and pleasant place to stay”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2016

We are a mature couple who stay at Dormer Venn for 3 weeks. Booking the apartment was smooth and easy. The property looks exactly as advertised I.e. WYSIWYG. It is a nice one bedroom apartment located in a beautiful quiet surrounding. A stunning garden, great views, peaceful and quiet although it is only 100 yards of the main A25 road. The entrance to the apartment is on the ground level leading to a two level little kitchen. There are a couple of steps up and down so one have to be careful when moving around on the ground level. The newly refurbished flat is on the first floor. There is everything you need - all the amenities and appliances are there. There is also a spacious balcony with garden furniture to enjoy the views. We did not use the balcony but I believe it must be fantastic in the summer. Our host was very polite, helpful and approachable but discrete at all times for everything we needed. At the end of our stay we felt as being a family. There is a parking on the site. We really enjoyed our stay at Dormer Venn. We would be happy to recommend it to our friends and would like to stay there again. There are two little things to mention. These are not disadvantages but more like something we found a little bit tricky. Perhaps people with mobility problems should be aware of the steps downstairs as the floor space is very narrow. The second problem for us was finding the lane off the main A Road. Especially in the few first days. We got used later but we're always looking for the right spot when turning in the night with traffic behind or ahead. Somehow the entrance to the property looks hidden :(

Dear Dragan Thank you very much for your very kind review and we look forward to welcoming you back here another time. The Garden Flat our ground floor accommodation is ideal for people with limited mobility, being all on one level. Kindest regards Louise

“Excellent accommodation for short or medium term stay”

I am itinerant IT consultant and regularly seek a home away from home in order to avoid long weekly commutes Dormer Venn exactly met my requirements in that it provided separate living and sleeping sections, cooking and laundry in an idyllic country setting There was also sufficient hanging and packing space for my clothing and secure off road parking. I enjoyed walking into Dorking which is within easy reach by foot or car I found the hosts to be warm and friendly without being intrusive and can unreservedly recommend Dormer Venn for a single or double stay
