Description

Directly overlooking the sea with uninterrupted views, within the small quiet fishing town of Donaghadee this is a 3 storey Victorian Townhouse, restored and modernised to a high standard. Bespoke large kitchen/diner open to both snug and front lounge area. Tri-fold glass doors can be drawn across to separate the snug from the Lounge, allowing use of the rooms separately. Both rooms have ample seating and the Snug has a working boiler stove for the colder seasons. The North Down Coastal Challenge cycle route passes the front door so this is an ideal base for a cycling holiday with many Mountain Bike trails within a short drive. Donaghadee also boasts one of the many Golf courses in the area along with 3 all season tennis courts a stones throw away. Sandy beaches and rockpools are plentyful along with many coastal walks from the house. Local festivals take place along the coastal towns nearby and in Donaghadee itself. This house has been previously featured inmost beautiful homes magazine.

“Excellent”

My extended family and I stayed here for a long weekend. The house is fab! Lots of original features, really well furnished, comfy sofas and beds and everything you could think of provided! Location is great too, short walk into Donaghadee and easy drive to lots of beautiful locations. Rik and Kim made us feel very welcome, were easily contactable and even dropped the sweater I left behind at my Mums!! Thank you both for a wonderful stay.

“Beautiful place”

The house was really beautiful, spacious and clean and well equipped. Everything was lovely and could have stayed there longer. Owners very helpful and friendly. Only issue was gorgeous deep bath and newly fitted bathrooms but Emersion heater rather than combi boiler was a bit inconvenient when a few of us wanted baths so hot water not on demand. Otherwise fabulous property and would recommend Will stay again

“Lovely House, Beautiful Views”

Arrived on Sat 15th April, Richard very kindly let us in early as we had plans in the evening and wanted to get settled. Lovely spacious house with beautiful views over the Irish Sea and within walking distance into Donaghadee along the Commons park, tennis courts and green bowls on your door step. The house was very well equipped with everything you needed and was perfect for all 6 of us as very spacious, large kitchen diner which was lovely to have our big family meals and a few board games in the evening. I would recommend to anyone who is thinking of a stay in lovely Donaghadee. :) Thank you Richard. Kimberley.

“Lovely house. Suited us well.”

The property was great for our family. Two adults, two toddlers and my 12 year old. Well maintained with all the essentials including a travel cot. There were no window keys but the owner quickly sorted this out. The main worry was that my three year old could easily open the upstairs window to fully open and we were worries she'd get out. We were able to obtain the keys and she was then able to have her own room. The washing machine and dryer were very handy and I used the clothes horse to air the clothes outside during the day. plenty of thing s to do on rainy days. We walked into Donaghadee a couple of times, which is a nice walk by the sea. Parking on the main road was a slight problem as it's such a busy road. There is space around the back but our car was very big. If you're happy to park and stay in Donaghadee which you can do, then it's not an issue. You can't hear Road noise from the house. Overall, big house, spacious, well equipped, lots of books and games, sperate living room (we put the children in there, away from the kitchen and handy for seeing the family. My in laws picked up the key from the owner as we would be getting to the house very late and he happily showed them around. Owners very accommodating.

“Donaghadee sea front home”

We decided on a last-minute break over the school midterm holidays and couldn't believe our luck when we found this house. When we arrived we were kindly shown around by Kim. The house's location was perfect for our group. Within easy driving distance of Belfast and the surrounding towns, Donaghadee has beautiful sea views and lovely children's playgrounds. The park across the road from the house provided much enjoyment for our children and they loved splashing about in the rock pools. The house itself is extremely comfortable,well equipped and beautifully furnished. The beds were cosy and comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space. The kitchen is the best equipped of any holiday let I've stayed in. The snug and the living room are relaxing spaces where we were able to unwind after busy days in the local area. Even with five children there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves and hide-and-seek was the game of choice. A selection of board games and DVDs meant we were happily occupied on the dark evenings. We really enjoyed our stay in Donaghadee, were sad to leave and hope to visit again in the near future. Thank you Rik and Kim for a most enjoyable stay in your beautiful home!

“House full of character with all the comforts from home.”

Lovely Victorian house within walking distance of a sleepy fishing village. Plenty of room and space for our teenagers to be with us or be with the wifi. Nice of the owner to come and say hello and be on hand if we needed anything. And our bed was more than comfortable!
