Getting around

Tired of driving? the train station in the village is served by the famous Conwy Line and connects with the Ffestiniogg Steam Railway then on to Porthmadog for the Welsh Highland Railway and Cambrian Coastal line. In season, the Snowdonia Sherpa bus service makes A to B walks possible and resolves parking problems.

Interaction with guest

I can usually be contacted by phone or email. I am happy to provide further information about the cottage and the local area. I have a lovely new housekeeper who lives locally as well as a gardener/maintenance man who can help when things go wrong. Their contact details are available on the guest information sheet. There is a welcome pack containing milk, butter, coffee, tea and bread/cake from the local bakery.

“Snowdon base”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2017

Fantastic location in the national park. Plenty of attractions nearby as well as the mountain range. The property grounds are amazing. The property itself has enough room for a group of 4-8 people and two bathrooms and heats up well. There is a nice stream out the back and sometimes the sheep end up in the back garden. There are more modern and more equipped properties but you need to remember what you are paying and for that amount you have more than enough to use as a nice base full of character to explore Snowdonia. I would only ask that the back patio door is looked at as we found that difficult to lock. Recommended.

Owner's reply: Thanks for info on rear door. It should be kept locked at all times. I will contact my housekeeper immediately to check and see if there is a problem.

“Girls Welsh Adventure”

Stunning location, perfect for our needs. Good base for sightseeing the local area. House in need of some decorative modernisation and some general TLC but on the whole a clean and comfortable place to stay. Excellently located within easy reach of most popular activities. Some lovely local beauty spots and walks and locals all very friendly. Black Rock Sands beach is a definite must visit and the train to Conwy and Betws y coed a lovely day out. Would go back and stay again very happily.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

“Fantastic location .... Good base for exploring Snowdonia”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2014

The property is spacious and stands within a large plot which includes a river where the grandchildren spent hours playing (take an inflatable boat for extra enjoyment). The "beach" area next to the river is secluded with the exception of the local train which chugs by a few times a day. Remember to take wetsuits and shoes. The property is suitable for groups and families looking for an enjoyable experience, it is not for those looking for wifi, televisions and mobile signals! With Snowdonia on your doorstep, the seaside town of Llandudno and the beaches at Harlech within easy reach, this is a great place to explore the area.

“Picturesque, well located and so nice to have a river running around the grounds”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2014

I loved this cottage, it has a couple of acres where the local farmer brings his sheep and lambs, the river has a small beach to it so makes for a relaxing sit down at the end of a day's outing. There are plenty of easy or challenging walking routes, long and short direct form the house. the villagers were friendly and the cottage spacious and had a nice feel about it. It is fun for children, safe too. We will definitely return!
