Description

You’ll be renting a 20ft round geodesic dome that also includes a private bathroom suite. This unit includes 1 King size bed. All of our camping lots are 2400 sqft minimum and includes parking for two vehicles. On site you will find a picnic table, a fire pit and a charcoal BBQ. You can purchase charcoal and firewood at the office. Also included is heated water, 20 amp of electricity and Wifi.

We are situated on South Harbour a few hundred metres from The Cape Breton National Park limits. Most visitors will drive all day just so they get back to their hotels in Baddeck or Sydney. For this park to be enjoyed, you need to leave the beaten path as in "The Cabot Trail" to truly enjoy this part of the world. You'll have all the chances to do so when the whole Park is at your doorstep.

You can also rent kayaks, canoes or paddle boards from us or even spend the day at the beach that separates South Harbour from the Ocean. You can even book a zip line excursion with us just a few minutes away from our campground. Then Enjoy your nights under a full blanket of stars roasting marshmallows in front of a campfire. Wake up the next day just to let the sunrise over the Harbour fill your soul with serenity and begin yet another memorable day here at the Blue Bayou Resort.

Guest access

You can use lake or Harbour to swim, we recommend you bring some type of water shoes because of oyster shells laying at the bottom of the Harbour. You can also use the pay laundry facility and the public washrooms.

Other things to note

This is a glamping resort with 30 units in total. Also keep in mind that we accept dogs but charge an extra cleaning fee of $30 per stay for the first dog and add $10 per extra dogs. 3 dog max per booking.

Getting around

You can come here in many ways. Road being the most relevant. But South Harbour was first reach by boat with the famous story of John Cabot. He landed in 1497 at the foot of Sugar Loaf Mountain visible from our property. You could also land a float plan on the Harbour at your discretion. The Cabot Trail has been described as one of the most scenic motorcycle destinations in the world. If you enjoy riding into stunning ocean vistas, through old-growth forests, around rock walls scarred by glaciers and leaning into a corner while the mysterious highlands fill your rear view mirror; this motorcycle oasis is for you. Is just as enjoyable in a car. Many have also cycle the Cabot Trail and we see a lot of cyclist on these roads in the Summer.

How do damage deposits work?
