Location description from owner

The Dingle Peninsula region

Dingle is one of the most delightful towns in Ireland. It is where Irish people choose to go when they holiday in there own country. It has an intoxicating mix of stunning natural beauty with huge cultural heritage .It is one of the last places in Ireland where our native language Gaelic is spoken on a daily basis and where the schools our children attend are taught fully in Gaelic. It is also the best place in Ireland to experience Irish traditional music with traditional music sessions still an impromtu part of pub life here.
Dingle Town is the heart and soul of the Dingle Peninsula. Once cited as 'the most beautiful place on earth' by the National Geographic, it was voted among the top 100 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor, CNN recently recommended it as a very favourable winter destination, it is listed as one of the top 10 places to be on New Year's Eve - all of these accolades refer to County Kerry's stunningly beautiful Dingle Peninsula.
This poem written by Niall O'Connor over 100 years ago speaks for itself:

'I find the fellowship, of myself here
and all who have gone before me.
in this holy, West of Dingle peninsula
I find the same landscape
is cradle and grave,
knows the brooding, and the gathering,
the harvest, and the beach comb,
the storm, and its aftermath.
Lives like candle flames
shelter behind stone walls
from the onslaught;
each man rediscovers his own cave,
where he is companion to himself,
and only what he can carry.'

Dingle
