The Brittany region
Brittany has long been a favourite holiday destination for many, with it's granite coastline and endless beaches, Forts, Chateaus and a large collection of historic towns the area is steeped in history and offers a variety of attractions. Alongside this, the area is famous for its seafood, cider and traditional Breton beer.
Saint Malo: Famous walled city just 15minutes away. Originally a pirate town or "Corsaires" (legitimate pirates) with plenty to keep both young and old occupied.
Dinan: Beautiful medieval walled town just 10minutes away.
Dinard: Elegant seaside resort town founded by the British just 25 minutes away.
Mont Saint Michel: The second most visited monument in France (after the Eiffel Tour) just 40 minutes drive.
Fort La Latte: Medieval fortress/castle: 50mins
Cancale: Fishing village well known for its oysters just 25 minutes.
Rennes: Lively city of 250,000 people. The capital of Brittany - 50mins.
Fougeres: Huge medieval fortress - 1&1/2 hours
Pleudihen is close to many main routes- Caen-Brest highway and St Malo-Rennes.
Along the river Rance, Pleudihen-sur-Rance is a peaceful and tranquil place where "the plough and the Doris are a stone's throw" said Chateaubriand. The Doris is the traditional boat of the Rance which was used for cod-fishing in Newfoundland.
Enjoy the beach at Mordreuc, the hiking in the Val Hervelin and cycle or walk the country trails that lead to other villages and hamlets along the Rance - La Ville Ger, Le Bas Champs, La Chapelle de Mordreuc, Port Lyvet, Dinan.
The Rance Valley has always been known for its variety of apples and the quality of its cider. The Cider Museum shows the traditional methods of cider making and you can taste (dégust) their ciders, whilst the modern and large cider factor, Val de Rance, has sales from their cellar door.

"Great location, beautifully fitted out and the downstairs wet room made it ideal for anyone with mobility issues."
Very easy to book the gite, all the directions and instructions were spot on with a lovely friendly welcome from the owners. The gite is well equipped with light and airy decoration plus a sunny spot to sit outside with coffee or a glass of wine. Anyone with mobility issues would welcome the downstairs bathroom with its excellent wetroom and the unusually comfortable sofabed. This plus gorgeous sheets and towels makes for a great sleep. The location is really well suited to exploring the north Brittany coast as well as inland to Dinan and Rennes. We love food and wine and so for us it was ideal - the middle of the cider growing region of the Rance valley and an amazing range of restaurants with fantastic seafood within easy reach. In the village itself is an extraordinarily brilliant bakery and patisserie with everything baked on the premises by real artisanal experts. Definitely going back to stay again next year.

"Perfect, clean, well equipped and in a nice location"
We very much enjoyed our stay at La Touche. We rented the bigger cottage and it was perfect for our family of four with two bedrooms on the upper floor. You could also use the sofa in the living room if there were more of you. The house is very clean, recently furbished and well maintained. It was warm and very well equipped with all the things you would need in the kitchen a washing machine/dryer, hairdryer etc. It is in a beautiful location with a big and safe garden. Our kids loved playing outside and the especially appreciated the goats. The owners are very nice and very helpful in providing ideas for what to do. The small town is within walking distance and the beach as well and also there are lots of interesting sites to explore not too far away. We have recommended this place to friends and will hopefully come again soon. There are so many things to explore! The Gites could also be very nice for two families travelling together as it has to gites in the same building.

"A fabulous gite on the Rance River"
It was our first time in Brittaney and our first stay in a gite in France - and what a pleasure it was too.It was really spacious and had everything one needed for a self catering holiday. Located just out of the village of Pleudihen sur Rance, this ideallic property was really sunny with a south facing aspect and french doors that opened onto the garden. It was an extremely peaceful spot with loungers in the garden to enjoy at your leisure. It had a fabulously large bathroom with walk in shower which is a luxury in France. The bedrooms were located up a rather steep staircase and had lovely views over the countryside. Loved this little area of France with the village in walking distance and bigger towns of St Malo & Dinan, not very far away. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a self catering holiday.

"Exceeded expectations on every level"
We booked after seeing the very positive reviews on this site, and everything we read turned out to be true - a beautiful, super-clean gite containing everything you need in a peaceful location, perfectly located near lots of castles, beaches and other activities. Kate is also the hostess with the mostest. Thanks for a great holiday and see you again for sure.

"Great Holiday Gite in Britanny"
This gite was a wonderful base for our holiday in Britanny. The facilities are excellent, the gite is set in peaceful and beautiful surroundings and is within easy walking distance of both the town and the river Rance. Trips to Dinan, St Malo and other great places were easily accessible along quiet well maintained highways. This holiday met all our expectations and, despite the locations distance from our home in New Zealand, we look forward to a future visit.

"Beautiful Location with welcoming hosts"
Spotless gite, beautiful rural location. Close to St Malo, Dinan and Dinard. Excellent washing machine with built in clothes dryer function, very handy when travelling. Many places advertise clothes dryer and it is only a fold out rack. Excellent secure parking. A wonderful Boulangerie in the village. The owners are wonderful and nothing was a bother. Stairs to bedroom were steep. Environmental "pellet" heater was brilliant, press a button and you had instant heat, and no smoke smells. Sitting outside watching the sunset a real delight. Beach nearby. Plenty of nearby golf courses, DInard Golf Course had amazing views. Can highly recommend this gite.

"Family reunion in Brittany"
We recently stayed for two nights at La Touché as we were visiting our daughter who is currently living in Brittany and were welcomed by Kate & Marc as one of their family. The accommodation was just perfect being a very spacious modern apartment, spotlessly clean and with everything you could want and more! a bottle of complimentary local cider was chilling for us in the fridge. We explored the local town of Pleudihen Sur Rance which is only a short walk away and very quaint. We also had a full days sightseeing around Dinan and Saint Malo and caught the local bus from town which was very easy, a fantastic! days outing. We would highly recommend La Touché to anyone visiting this area as it is a great location to explore from together with wonderful accommodation and Kate and Marc are amazing hosts.
