'Under the Oaks' holiday farmhouse - a historic building dating from 1836 (the farm is no longer operational, so there is no livestock present)

Sleeps up to 10 persons. There are also 2 cots for babies. In a village located between 3 National Parks

The holiday farmhouse:

- A large, well-equipped & tastefully-furnished Dutch former farmhouse situated in the center of unspoiled Diever village

- Our farmhouse will provide all amenities for the perfect stay in this historic Drenthe village which is situated at the heart of rural Netherlands and surrounded by areas of stunning natural beauty, including the largest wet-heathland in western Europe at Dwingelderveld

- Fast and secure wireless internet access throughout the farmhouse

- The large double bedroom comes with 2x1 boxspring beds (*due to current social distancing requirements and restricted space in one of the bedrooms upstairs, we have been forced to temporarily remove the double bed here in order to accommodate a maximum of 10 guests), a large built-in wardrobe and also has a modern LCD TV plus Blu-ray player

- Large main room, with high ceilings and large windows. There are 2 long corner sofas plus armchairs to easily accommodate even the largest of parties. A Smart TV gives access to British & American TV stations and there is a sound system and Blu-ray player, plus a selection of movies on DVD, as well as a CD collection

- Kitchen with all modern amenities, including separate full-size fridge/freezer

- Dining area with table that can be expanded to accommodate larger groups

- The bathroom has a double swing-door walk-in shower

- Separate upstairs and downstairs WCs

- Comfortable boxspring beds and washbasin in 3 of the 4 twin bedrooms upstairs. 2 extra single beds that can be placed in the twin or double bedrooms.

- For children, there are cupboards full of soft toys, electronic / board games, puzzles and books. While 2 cots, 2 highchairs and a baby bath will help accommodate our youngest guests

- Safety features include fire extinguishers, fire blanket, smoke and CO2 detectors and a stair gate

- Comprehensive English-language tourist information available covering Diever village and the surrounding areas (including Friesland, its islands and Overijssel), as well as most major tourist attractions in the Netherlands is provided

- Library of books

- Easy walking access to nearby grocery store, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlor, an award-winning bakery (one of the finest in the Netherlands!), souvenir shops, tourist office, as well as the village bird sanctuary, archaeological museum, megalithic stones and the Drents-Friese forest

- Guests have exclusive use of the front farmhouse which adjoins the owner's property. The house is entirely self-contained with two entrances for full privacy

- Up to 3 well-behaved pets can be accommodated with prior notice

Why can't I call David and Monique (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send David and Monique (the owner) a message.

If David and Monique (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
