The immense cultural whealth and variety of Veneto is the main reason for visiting this area. The region is remarkable for its beauty, art and historical cities. In addition, Lake Garda is to explore and an hour's drive brings you to the Dolomite mountains, as well as the most important art towns of the Veneto region. Villa Asolo is located in the center of the Veneto, in the foothills of Asolo. The grounds are spacious and beautiful, with six acres of lawns and well-maintained gardens. The villa is located in a small village, and a coffee bar, restaurant and grocery shop are in walking distance.
The nearby town of Maser is known for its magnificent villas; and Asolo, the beautiful walled town where Robert Browning lived, is 4 km/3 miles away. Bassano del Grappa (after which the drink grappa is named), with its narrow streets of charming shops and famous covered wooden bridge is about 18 kilometers/12 miles. The villas on the Brenta canal as well as the famous Palladio villas should also be on your cultural agenda. Treviso (30km/18mi), Padua/Padova (50km/32mi), Venice (50km/32mi), Vicenza (50km/32mi) and Verona (100km/64mi) with its Roman arena and the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony are within easy daytrip distance.
The villa has been restored with an eye to comfort, beauty, and style. The villa is built on three floors: on the ground and second floor is Asolo 8 measuring 800 square metres; also on the second floor are Asolo 6 and Asolo 2, each with independent entrance. Please note: Asolo 6 and 2 are not rented separately when only Asolo 8 is occupied.
The six-acre garden, maintained lovingly by the owner, has been featured in Italian garden magazines. In the warmer season the extensive garden will be beckoning the guests to enjoy the evenings under the open sky. Tables and chairs will invite you to relax under your pergola, reading-up your guide books while relaxing with a glass of the excellent local wine, and enjoy the quiet and peace in the beautiful garden with your private swimming pool (7 x 14 m) after a rewarding day of sight-seeing.
The villa owners have arranged for a reduced fee for their guests at the local golf club, and are happy to arrange visits to local wineries with advance notice. The owners' residence is located on the property, and they have a dog. Although the dog is friendly, Villa Asolo is not appropriate for anyone allergic to or afraid of dogs.
