The village of Dervock is famous for the annual July McAurthur Marathon held in memory of Kennedy Kane McArthur, a former village postman, who won the Marathon Olympic Gold Medal in Sweden over 100 years ago! The market town of Ballymoney is just a 10 minute drive away. It is the home of famous motorbike racer Joey Dunlop where you can visit his Memorial garden to see a life size image of our local hero. Ballymoney has much to offer the tourist with a Leisure Centre boasting a swimming pool and children's pool, a state of the art Gymnasium and Health Suite plus squash and badminton courts. The recently updated and refurbished Megaw Park is a hugely popular play area for all local children.
