Portreath, the next coastal village along in a Westerly direction is famed for it's harbour and Mineral Tramway. Cycle hire is available on the Porthtowan to Portreath road,( The Bike Barn ) ,which will allow you to follow the tramway all the way to a little village on the South coast called 'Devoran'.
In a Northerly direction, on the coastal path, you will come to Chapel Porth, another small beach with a National Trust Car Park & Beach Cafe, famed for it's 'Croque Monsieurs' and hedgehog ice creams ( ice cream cornet spread with Cornish Clotted cream & rolled in roasted hazelnuts). A definite must for food lovers of all ages.
Within walking distance of C-View is a variety of pubs from the family friendly Unicorn, which serves Pub grub to the more lively Blue Bar a more contemporary atmosphere with of course the view over the beach. For a relaxing morning coffee, the delicious food, or the lively evening entertainment.

A short drive out of Porthtowan along the coast road is the village of St. Agnes with its famous ' Stippy Stappey ' quaint houses and its shops, pubs & restaurants.
