The Grey Hen at Allt Molach offers an ideal central location for exploring the whole of the Highlands of Scotland . Luxurious and spacious, a Highland hideaway set in ten acres of woodland, bordered by two streams with open access to the wilderness beyond, The Grey Hen at Allt Molach is named after the female black grouse which is thriving at the nearby RSPB Corrimony Reserve. A peaceful retreat for family and friends.
On the ground floor there is a comfortable drawing room with Jotul log-burner, large dining room with doors onto an outdoor terrace, big well-equipped kitchen with Aga, good-sized utility room and loo. The Scottish Highlands contain some of the last wilderness to be found in Britain, and some of the most stunning scenery. The Great Glen cuts diagonally across the Highlands with Loch Ness brooding at its heart. Tales of the Loch Ness Monster are world-famous. Scotland is justifiably proud of its History and heritage, culture and cuisine. It's not as wet as you've heard and the midge are only really bad on the west coast.
Glen Urquhart runs at right angles to Loch Ness from Urquhart Castle to where it meets Strathglass at Cannich. There the beautiful Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrer areas lie to east and west. Corrimony is a scattered farming settlement with beautiful views. The Chambered Cairn at Corrimony dates from the Bronze Age and RSPB Corrimony nature reserve is an upland site of 1531ha in the Scottish Highlands, comprising roughly two-thirds moorland and one-third conifer plantation. Its habitats include semi-natural birch wood, plantation woodland, loch, bogs and heath. Both are within half a mile of The Grey Hen at Allt Molach.
