The England region

Fabulous Food - With names such as Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver now tied to Padstow Watergate Bay and Newquay, it isn’t hard to see why Cornwall is developing international renown when it comes to great food. And it’s not only the traditional seafood that attracts connoisseurs. Newquay and the surrounding area boast numerous must-try pubs and restaurants, see Eating Out for just some of the many we would like to recommend. Activities for all - The fantastic quality of Cornwall is that there is something here that will appeal to everyone, whatever their interests or age. Water sports are the obvious pull for the adventurous, and away from the beach there are copious opportunities for golf, tennis, pitch and putt, fishing, riding and much more. Whether you want an adrenaline rush or a quiet walk, there are activities here to suit you. Cornish Attractions - Cornwall is a feast for the senses. With a climate that encourages highly unusual trees and plant life, the county boasts an array of original and beautiful gardens. In contrast with this lush, almost tropical element, Cornwall is also wonderfully rugged, with ancient stone circles and tin mines that carry you back many centuries. Catch a bus or take the car to visit the famous Eden Project.

Porth

Although renowned for its fabulous coastline and beaches, there is more to Newquay than sea and surf. The only zoo in Cornwall is here with over 300 animals and fabulous landscaped gardens, or see sharks and stingrays at the Blue Reef Aquarium. There are also the delights of a cafe society with trendy beachside bistros, stylish high street venues and local restaurants including Jamie Olivers Fifteen at Watergate Bay. Traditional british food is always available from the cafes, pubs and take-aways around the town. Newquay is great for children and adults alike with its trendy nightlife and days relaxing on the golden sands. Play a round of golf or take a trip around Newquay bay and catch some mackerel. Indulge in a little retail therapy or visit some of Newquays fantastic attractions. Or if you really do live to surf, look no further than the famous Fistral Beach.
