Monty's is a 2 bedroom cottage in the pretty village of Foyers, situated on the shore of the famous Loch Ness. A stunning waterfall attraction, known as the "Falls of Foyers", is only a few minutes' walk away from the cottage. Monty's is finished to a very high standard with a wonderful mix of traditional and contemporary design. We aim to make it as comfortable as possible without losing touch with the ambiance of the Scottish Highlands.

Luxury bedding is included throughout, including Egyptian cotton sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases, all with a 400 thread count. Plus we have mattress toppers and goose-down duvets on all beds, with amazing pillows so you will have a wonderful night's sleep.

The cottage is ideal for one or two couples, or parents with children. The main bedroom has a double bed whereas the other bedroom has twin beds that can zip together as a double, plus space for a cot. Please tell us your requirements and the beds will be set up in advance of your arrival.

There is seating and dining for four in the lounge, which features Sky TV (movies and kids channels included), DVD player, iPod dock, and fast broadband / unlimited Wi-Fi.

Monty's has a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc. We provide essentials such as salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, tea, coffee and sugar for the duration of your stay so that you don't have to buy them whilst you're here, and even milk for when you arrive. We want you to settle in straight away - hence the complimentary shortbread and whisky that you'll find in the lounge!

Finally, there is a modern bathroom with separate bath and shower units. And unlike a lot of holiday rentals, we provide towels so that you don't have to bring these with you.

There is plenty to see and do in the area, with activities ranging from cycling, kayaking, Loch Ness cruises, fishing, skiing … and monster hunting, of course! Or if you prefer, relaxing walks in the many forests and mountains, and on the shores and beach that are close by. It is a great holiday destination for all ages.

The Loch Ness region

The Scottish Highlands, and Loch Ness in particular, enjoy spectacular scenery that rivals anywhere else in the world. Approximately 50 km from Glasgow on the A82, the Highlands begin with Loch Lomond and many other lochs running up through the breath-taking Glen Coe to Fort William, near Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. This route continues past Loch Lochy to Fort Augustus, at the west edge of Loch Ness.

Inverness is regarded as the capital of the Scottish Highland, being the administrative centre for the regional council, and is positioned north east of Loch Ness. It is 13 km from the starting point of South Loch Ness at Dores, which runs another 18 km to Foyers where Monty's is situated.

Futher east from Loch Ness and south east from Inverness are the Cairngorms mountain range, home to five of the six highest mountains in Scotland. This area is popular for climbing, skiing and mountain biking.

The Loch itself is surrounded by woodlands and peaks of a sublimely tranquil nature, with many walking trails and quiet roads perfect for cycling or relaxed driving.

As well as its own attractions including the Falls and views over Loch Ness, Foyers enjoys neighbouring villages such as Inverfarigaig along the Loch, Errogie within the woodlands, and the village of Dores on the beach at the the eastern starting point of South Loch Ness. Also next to the beach is The Dores Inn pub and restaurant, which serves fantastic food and provides a warm welcome to visitors.

The cottage is situated on the B852, making it easy to get to and from by car or bike. The road hugs the Loch when travelling from Inverness, with plenty of stopping points to take in the scenery. This route is extremely quiet through Upper Foyers and becomes a winding forest road soon after the cottage when travelling away from Loch Ness. Buses and taxis are available to and from the village.

Monty's has its own private parking area, and there is a children's play area situated right next to the cottage.

Local activities include kayaking, fishing and Loch Ness cruises, with much more available further afield.
