This apartment, flooded with light, is located in the heart of the old city, in an historic building of Graça, one of Lisbon's most iconic and oldest neighbourhoods. It was restored combining architectural tradition and contemporary design. It has 1 bedroom, living room, bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. From the windows, the two small balconies and the skylight windows you can see the sky, the rooftops and the lively and wonderful neighbourhood, full of small hidden backyards and gardens. Graça is located on the highest of the famous seven hills of Lisbon, right next to Alfama and São Jorge's castle. It's known for its Vilas - meaning clusters of small residential buildings - whose unique architectural features are a subject of study and curiosity all over the world. The most legendary tram of Lisbon - number 28 - that goes through major city traditional neighbourhoods passes directly in front of the building. The stop is 30 seconds away. Less than a 5 minute walk, are two of the most famous and beautiful panoramic views of Lisbon: Senhora do Monte and Miradouro da Graça breath-taking viewpoints. In a 10 minute walk you will find 'Feira da Ladra' the most typical and genuine (flea) market of the city. The apartment – with free WIFI internet - has a comfortable and relaxing leaving room (with a futon bed) and an even more peaceful bedroom with a double bed. It is perfect for two people. A third person would have to sleep in the living room, unless it's a child. In that case we could provide a comfortable single mattress. The kitchen is fully equipped: with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, washing machine, coffee maker, electric water boiler, toaster and all the necessary cooking utensils. There is also a hair drier and an ironing table. Like most of the historic constructions in Lisbon, this building was projected long before elevators were invented. The apartment is located on the 4th floor of the building and has a mansard roof. It is ideally situated Graça's main street, within a 10 minute walking distance from the metro station of Anjos, a 20 minute walk from the main International railway station Santa Apolónia and a 15 min drive from the airport. If you have never been to Lisbon, you must bear in mind that this city is full of charming but nonetheless challenging hills. The street and the neighbourhood are full of small traditional shops, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies, ATMs, all sorts of restaurants and outdoor cafes, and services you may need for an unforgettable stay in one of the most beautiful and charismatic cities you will ever see.In case you are travelling by car or if you are planning to rent one: This apartment is located in one of the few neighbourhoods in Lisbon - if not the only one in central Lisbon - where one can still park a car without paying. (Please remember to ask that if you decide to choose to stay in a different part of the city.) In general, parking is not very easy in Graça, but fortunately for me who lived in this apartment for almost 10 years in that area of the neighbourhood it is possible to park without difficulty, even right in front of the building. From the apartment you can walk almost anywhere, or get the 28 tram to other parts of the city. If you like walking (up and down the hills…), I would strongly recommend that you leave the car behind and save it for the longer journeys like Sintra, Arrábida or Cascais.
