Many past and recent visitors call Dubrovnik “the pearl of the Adriatic”. Dubrovnik is becoming more and more popular with visitors from all over the world. With its uniquely preserved medieval walls, brilliant sunshine, translucent waters and dramatic mountains, the Dubrovnik Riviera is a unique holiday experience that lives up to its reputation as a premier destination. Ideal for those who want to relax and sunbathe by the clear warm waters of the Adriatic, and if you're feeling more energetic there is the magnificent Old Town to discover, or you can take longer trips on land or sea. Dubrovnik is a great base for exploring surrounding areas such as Montenegro, Mostar in Bosnia, and several charming islands.
Ploce is an elite residential neighborhood and is very popular among visitors to Dubrovnik owing to its spectacular views of the Adriatic and the Old Town. Old Town can be reached 10-15 minutes by foot and the sprawling Banje Beach with East/West beach club is a bit closer. Fortunately, taxis are plentiful and affordable, with the trip from Old Town costing approximately 40 Kuna (about 6 EUR). Visitors often prefer to stay in Ploce because properties there offer outdoor space, magnificent views, and a tranquil retreat from the crowded streets of Old Town, particularly in the summer months. Nearer to the apartment (about 5-7 minutes' walking distance) there is a grocery store, coffee shop, bakery, and a bus stop.
