Dorset is a beautiful county with rolling countryside which meets the sea. There are endless walks along the beaches and coastal paths. Some are gentle strolls others are more strenuous !
Dorset suits people of all generations, be it sight seeing in local towns such as Bridport, Dorchester, Beaminster or Charmouth, walking , fishing, fossil hunting, crabbing in the harbours and inlets or just watching the world go by.
West bay is a small harbour 'village' located two miles from Bridport. It was recently used as the main setting for ITV's hit drama series Broadchurch. West Bay is still a working harbour and fresh fish can still be bought from some of the local fishing boats. There is a really good fishmonger, newsagent, small supermarket and restaurants, including the famous Riverside Restaurant and the Watch Café ( sister café to the Hive at Burton Bradstock).
Bridport is a bustling market town with a vibrant street market on Saturdays where you can buy virtually anything. There is a farmers market on the second Saturday in the month. Alongside this, there are brewery tours at Palmers Beer, a museum and informative tourist information office for the area.
