'Buy Local' & 'Eat Local'
Hastings and the surrounding area also has an established and enviable reputation for some of the finest food produce in Sussex. It not only boasts the best meat produced from locally bred herds of beef and Romney Marsh Lamb, but also some of the freshest locally caught fish from one of the largest beach launched fishing fleets in Britain. The quality and local abundance of this fair, means you cannot get tastier produce. Many of the local restaurants take full advantage of this and you will find that both locals and visitors frequent their establishments. Fish & chips is traditional when visiting a seaside town, but by no means the only dish on the menu!
Hastings also has a 'Seafood & wine Festival'. This year the festival is on 14 Sep 2013 To 15 Sep 2013
